Con Ferr tanks were steel, my Downey tanks are nylon, both are 22 gallon, both have the lower rear side slanted upward for better departure angle (shape of my custom aluminum skid plates). My tank lab tested stronger than the steel tanks, pressure that ripped open a steel tank merely dented my...
Ok Kimosabi's, I just finished another batch of the heavy duty belly/tranny skid plates, and the trick rear fuel cell aluminum skid plates. No word yet on my next batch of rear fuel cells though. Sooooo order up if you've been waiting for a skid plate- - -easy deal.
Ok, approved the samples today, perfect. Steel belly/tranny skid plates done now, rear fuel cell aluminum skid plates will be done next Monday. Zero eta on the next batch of rear fuel cells though, I've ordered, but told not to hold my breath ???
Thanks newmexicokid, I have the complete adapter minus that shaft, I have to make the shaft since Marks & AA want $800.00 for a new shaft, and I have the ability to manufacture a new shaft for far less than that. I already have the male splined end (cut from a tranny input shaft) and the female...
I'm not going to take the time to read all the previous 7 pages of this thread, but this last page has my interest. First, your idle problem almost sounds like you did not use a 2 pulse vehicle speed sender, they work with the 02 sender to control idle functions. Second, surprised you have...
Just ordered another full batch of steel belly skid plates and aluminum gas tank skid plates, not eta yet. They requested samples since they had not built them for awhile, I said all samples sold many moons ago, I told them they had built batches before off the drawings (without sample) and they...
I don't know if you ended up with the Downey smog legal Header jrefj40 had for sale, if so you will need some missing parts. Looking at your 2nd photo above, I believe you can use a 1" I.D. crush collar on the large pipe routing into the rear/back side of the large EGR cooler. Now, looking at...
Don't know who ended up with this Header, but after they round up all the missing parts, I can supply the missing smog legal decal needed under the hood- - - -lemme know. Good luck on finding the metric crush collars needed.
I'd avoid the "Competition Harnesses", they keep you soooo locked back into your seat that you can't shift or make any adjustments while 4 wheeling, I simply could not use the shoulder harness when wheeling.
Where is your elec. fuel pump mounted? Elec. fuel pumps are pushers, not suckers. If your pump is up in the engine compartment it might get tired of trying to suck gas from the tank. Try mounting the pump closer to the tank.
I don't know if things have changed since I have faded out of the loop, but back in the day all electric fuel pumps were pushers, not suckers, sooooo they always had to be mounted as close to the tank as possible.
I looked up S-10 gas tanks and saw at least 3-4 different designs, so don't know if my idea will work, but look at my ebay #255083740492, it will require that you have sufficient flat area on top the S-10 tank. Then since your stock 1973 sending unit is a 120 ohms empty by 17 ohms full, you...
