Entering the 80's from my 40's past life

It bothers me too. I like the advice from GW Nugget on "Cruiser Control" ... its always good to put the Cruiser fever in check.

Entering the 80's from my 40's past life

I had the chance to speak with the seller and I don't think he its trying to lead me astray. Here are photos of the engine rebuild. It was completed by a friend of his who is "a solid mechanic" as a "I owe you one" so there is no receipts. Rebuild kit was out of LC performance I believe...

Entering the 80's from my 40's past life

Thanks for the quick reply! I have asked for further clarification on what was really done to the engine. I also asked about a receipt of head rebuild and if the engine work was done by a reputable shop. Stay tuned.

ddeezenuts: The rear corner panels are riveted and the diamond under the doors are screwed. It was plated by the previous owner and I never did see it without the diamond plate. I can feel all around the panels with solid steel and no through rust holes. I guess the PO thought it was pretty...

timing and distributor cap clearance issue

I adjusted my timing, set it at 11 deg. for my altitude, vacuum gauge moved from 12-14.5. Power improved! I wanted to keep turning my distributor but the hold down clamps are not allowing me to turn more from no clearance between my dizzy cap and the engine side cover. So,... how can I...

    fast idle problem

Look down at the connection to the manifold at the base of the carburetor, next to the carburetor opposite the firewall. Screw is horizontal to the ground and oriented like your axles. Screw driver reaches from under the brake booster. I had a similar experience just last week. This was...

    Solenoid valve connection

Follow up I wanted to follow up, & let you know some of my findings. I connected the solenoid valve to a switched 12-volt power source... However, after driving on it for a while, it still didn't seem right...(still would stall cold, etc.) & the brakes were still increasing engine idle speed...

    carburetor wont adjust

I do not have that screw, instead it has a screw that is approx 3" and is horizontal to the ground and in line with the axels. (not a '75?) I have backed it out, but the butterfly doesn't drop with it. There is an adjustable linkage from the accelerator pedal which may be preventing it from...

    carburetor wont adjust

I think the linkage is boogered. Image shows idle SPEED screw All the way backed out. What do you see? Looks like the linkage is bent so the butterfly wont close completely.... before i bend this, do you agree?
