    1FZ Can I trust TPS OBD-II value during re-learn?

This is in line with my understanding, and why I was curious initially whether OBD2 data can be trusted while the ECU is doing its calibrations (or whatever).

    1FZ Can I trust TPS OBD-II value during re-learn?

I may have been overly terse in my response, this medium ain't perfect. I appreciate your input, and reminders to stay the diagnostic course are good things to hear especially when there is a risk of rushing the job and doing sloppy work. No offense intended nor taken. I was parroting a term...

    1FZ Can I trust TPS OBD-II value during re-learn?

Thanks all, much appreciated. Fair points. I freely admit to trying to short-cut this a bit, the weather is not going to hold out much longer here and I do not have a heated shop. It suffered from a slightly high idle before the O2 code, and I happened to see the TPS value on the scan tool...

    1FZ Can I trust TPS OBD-II value during re-learn?

I must have missed the OBD2 part in there--I do see the meter/feeler gauge method however. At this point then it seems like it is worth a try to use the live data, it will either work or it won't.

    1FZ Can I trust TPS OBD-II value during re-learn?

@ZackR Thanks for the info. Makes complete sense. Full disclosure for the question is I was hoping to take the shortcut and use live data to set the TPS as several here have recommended. If the scan tool is receiving the ECU's interpretation and not (I assume?) the raw signal, that method could...

    1FZ Can I trust TPS OBD-II value during re-learn?

Hi all--Chasing a P0125 on my 1996 LX 450. It was intermittent, then the other week it became permanent and the truck started to run very rich (by smell), rough, missing, etc. Checked upstream O2, found signal wire hanging by a corroded thread, replaced the harness side connector. Started it...

Yes, looks like the photo minus grille and rad.

    SOLD 1970 FJ40 project MN $800

To clarify: "disassembled" (currently) means it's a rolling truck similar to the photo; the grille, radiator and front bumper have been removed.

    SOLD  1970 FJ40 project MN $800

Hi all--Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, my 1970 FJ40 basket case needs to move ASAP. See thread here: 1970 “it’s all there, I swear” project - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/1970-its-all-there-i-swear-project.1289702/ Disassembled, rusty but complete truck. Engine starts and runs...

    New pig day

PB Blaster Surface Shield. Similar to Fluid Film but Harbor Freight has it so I thought I would give it a shot. I have no experience with Fluid Film but this stuff seems to grease things up pretty well. I believe so. I need to verify but I would guess whoever built this would not use the 80...

That's the idea, ha. A few more details: the throttle cable itself is Toyota, the plain wire version. The only point the cable is supported at the bracket is where the end of the 90 cable guide tube passes through the last, smaller cantilever on the bracket, which is how the bike manufacturers...

    New pig day

Finishing up throttle linkage MKII. It needed to be low to clear the air cleaner and I wanted something more durable as well as easier to install/adjust. Bicycle brake cable 90 degree tube seems to work nicely here. Needs final grinding and paint.

Another shot of the front bracket. Finished grinding a relief for the oil fill and dressed the edges a bit.

Thanks. Yep, it’s got a 78 hood with the raised center section for the 2F.

    New pig day

Bought an air cleaner for a 60 series 2F by mistake, but it was a good deal and they’re close enough I figured I could make it work. Research indicated that the valve cover and air cleaner for the 81+ 2F are shorter than on the 40/55 series 2F (unsure how the 60 series lines up with the 40...
