It took me two tries with them to get the right dark brown. The first one I tried was perfect for the seats, it was labeled medium dark oak. The second bottle was perfect for the steering wheel and was labeled medium oak even though it was considerably darker than the previous dye.
When you...
Hello @aharlan001
Thanks! The steering wheel still looks good but isn’t holding up as well as I hoped. It probably needs a sturdier top coat. When I redo it I’ll probably try the rosolene and SureSeal. As to the wheel color, yes, my wheel was the dark brown, same as the door trim. The seats...
I had the same issue on my 01’ just a month ago. After reading a few posts here and checking tie rods and other suspension components I disconnected the battery for an hour letting the computer reset as well as verifying all tires were at correct pressure. That fixed it for me, so far.
I must have gotten lucky, I have no noise or feedback. Just nice clean and clear sound.
The Metra amp integration harness uses the rca outputs of your new head unit. So all your audio controls work as they should.
For under $20 and how easy it is to install, it was an easy decision for me.
If your 99’ is like my 01’ I would try the factory amp. I just installed a Pioneer AVH2300-NEX using the Metra 70-8113 amp integration wire harness. I’m pleasantly surprised by the results.
@NCOBX I wanted to thank you for the thread. My family and I just spent the past week on Hatteras. We had planned to go to Savannah but after reading this thread I changed our plans. This was more our speed for sure.
We unfortunately never made it to Ocracoke, ferry was backed up most of the...
I had a sever case of Kruiser lean. Two inches measuring from hub to wheel well arch between the passenger and driver side. Cranked the torsion spring bolt seven complete turns to get it within a quarter inch. I’m happy with that.
I’m so pleased with how easy this was to fix. Thank you Mr.T...
I used Meguiers keep clear headlight coating on my 00’ Tundra. I did polish them a little before spraying them.
It seems to be holding up well after a few washes and all the bug splatter here in humid central Indiana.
My Wife and I recently bought an 01’ 100 series, it has 368,000 on the clock and along with that the typical seat and interior wear.
I read a few posts about Seat Doctors Professional Grade Auto Leather Dye being able to match the colors well so I ordered some dye to try. We have the oak...
@bmann1986 did you get yours fixed? I have the same problem on my 01’ and I’m not real sure how I want to go about fixing it yet.
Mine looks like it could be welded back together and add some reinforcement plates.
Would you mind posting pics when you get yours fixed?
Done a few more things to the Runner in the past week. Thanks to the FAQ my manual shifter works much better! I cleaned out what was left of the old shifter bushing and replaced it with a factory replacement. It took maybe thirty minutes to do, now it shifts like a new one.
And...
And another update: My miss at 2500 rpm was really from 2000-3000 rpm, which made it bad because that’s the sweet spot for accelerating.
I put 150 miles on it with no change so I pulled the plugs to see what they looked like. They all had a little carbon on them but nothing I thought should...
Update: I drove it home last night! :)
My mechanic was able to save the crank by carefully grinding away the weld. He installed a new harmonic balancer, timing belt gear, key and timing belt kit with water pump and all the other goodies. It still has a miss around 2500 rpm, I’m hoping that it...
IKR! Hopefully the crank is salvageable, then a new harmonic balancer, all the timing belt stuff with water pump and I can get this thing on the road.
I have a solid front Toyota axle that’s begging to be put into something. :D
Update: I have a local exhaust shop I use, turns out he’s a Toyota truck enthusiast and knows a little about them. So I towed the runner over for him to check out, he felt it was out of time and took the front cover off. Someone has welded the harmonic balancer to the crank. :bang: The timing...
I have at least one broken fuel injector connector. It appears to be plugged in and it makes no difference if I hold down on it while someone else cranks the engine. Would a loose connection cause the injectors to stick open, or miss fire? I've not had much luck finding threads concerning that...
Well, new TPS and VAFM did not fix my flooding issue. OBD shows all clear now.
I'm going to check my wiring on the fuel injectors next. Anyone rewired there's? I've read a few posts about the connectors getting brittle and breaking, as well as harness junctions causing problems.
I have a little more info. I pulled the cold start injector leaving it connected to the fuel line and cranked the engine over. No fuel at all came out of it either connected to the wire harness or not. Current temperature here is a pleasant 88°, yuck!
I also tried the same with my old VAFM...
