    Sold my LX470.....

Thank you for your moral support:) I sold LX only because after careful consideration I decided that keeping so much cash under my ass is simply not cost effective. I put this cash back in business and spent only little portion on the Poopfinder. I will definitely get cruiser 100 some time in a...

Sadly I decided to sell my gorgeous 2001 470. I wish I could keep her, but this rig was waaay to much of a truck for me. Every time I drove it I felt like I was taking a cruise boat to go water skiing. Anyways, she is gonna be gone in a few days all the way to Arizona and I menwhile purchased...

    100 series drive train question

I am in Columbus NorthWest. Today I greased the telescopic joint on the driveshaft and put Lucas Gear oil in the rear diff and the cluck seems to be gone all day today. Even with my newly purchased boat (also today:)) on the back! I stuffed grease in the driveshaft until telescoping joint...

    100 series drive train question

It warmed up here (in Ohio) and my rear end started to jerk after take off again. It is not as bad as it originally was (with the old gear oil), but very noticeable and extremely annoying!!!!!! I took it back to the dealer and even though first time they noticed this bouncing shifter and the...

    100 series drive train question

Let me clarify the situation. Dealerhisip replaced the gear oil in rear differential and it made this clunk go away entirely when truck is cold, however after I drive for 20+ minutes it come back again very slightly, so slight that if I was not looking for it I would not notice it at all. I...

    100 series drive train question

Got my truck back from the dealership! They fixed it, it turned out to be just a little low rear differential oil level and the oil itself was old (they said), any bumping, or jerking is completely gone, it now runs like brand new car! So, all of you guys that have similar problem, change your...

    100 series drive train question

Now that is interesting. 5 mph bumper resetting, what is that??? I get this bump at about the same spped, however speed and intencity are variable depending on the temperature outside and amount of throttle. This bump was very noticeably from the drive train, because if I help my hand on the...

    100 series drive train question

Well, it has been 3 days now and they still do not know what is causing it, meanwhile I am enjoying this pansie "butt" RX330 that feels like I am daddy's little princess riding in my pink little car!

    100 series drive train question

I finally went to the dealership today and had them test drive the truck. Sure enough they immediately reproduced the jerking and told me that it is definitely not normal. It could be 3 different things: Driveshaft One of the mounts, or Transmission 2 of which are covered by the residual of my...

    100 series drive train question

I have 56K on the odometer and it is 2001 LX470. I guess what we have here is a common thing and should not be too hard to investigate, I hope:)

    100 series drive train question

Hi, I started noticing a very slight bumping sensation right after the take off, before transmission shifts to the second gear. It is less, or more noticeable depending on the amount of gas. Sometimes it feels like if I ran over a rock with my rear wheel, or something like that. Today it is...

Hydro-air suspension, how does it operate?

I do not have owners guide for my LX470 and possibly because of that I do not seem to understand how to operate the height control buttons. I press "up" and car moves up just touch, however does not stay up if I start moving and same thing with "down". How long is it supposed to travel up and...

2001 LX470, do I have to put premium in it?

I just filled up with 92, resurfaced all brake rotors (suicidal thing to do on the front), replaced all pads, changed oil to 10w30 Mobil1 Synthetic, so 500K miles on the same engine, here I come:)

    96 with 155k oil consumption

I do not have any hondas right now, however owned 3 new Hondas throughout the years and was very happy. If it was not for Honda's dull model selection and constant lack of those in stock.... I kinda ran into whole bunch of oil consuming Toyota's though: 1983 Celica Supra (1 qt/500mi), very...

    96 with 155k oil consumption

Toyota is known to burn oil since the early models, so 155K and 1 qt per 3K is nothing. I am sure my 100 with 56K will be using up that much at least. Make no mistake, Toyota is no Honda, there will be lost oil:)

2001 LX470, do I have to put premium in it?

Thank you all for all the help! I went to the local Lexus dealership and they promised to try and help me replace this seat skin as grace from mighty Toyota:) Considering that I just had to arbitrate and return brand new 4Runner, it is not too much, to make yours truly happy:) If not I will...

    FJ100 / LX470 Transmission questions

Trying to do transmission tune up (55K miles, it is time) and NAPA says that there are no replaceable filter in this transmission. Does 2001 have paper filter, or maybe it is just a little washeable grill in there, like in BMW? Thanks
