    Better radiator hose clamp?

Thank you for the part info. I tested the fix last night and I have still more leaks going on. I am confident that what I am doing is working but I think I would have to solder the entire top to get it leak proof. This calls for a new radiator but I think I'll live with it for this year and...

    Better radiator hose clamp?

Yes, I did all that Paul. I have completed three repairs in total. I used wet towels on parts of the radiator I wasn't soldering to reduce the chances of popping seams elsewhere. The first two repairs were in the same area and nicely took care of the leak there. Then I found another leak 4" away...

    Better radiator hose clamp?

The soldering didn't quite work out as expected. It did fix about 90% of the issue but I am going to try again tonight for 100%. I was not able to use the soldering tip like I hoped. I could not get the radiator hot enough to melt the solder. I ended up using the $15 propane torch directly on...

    Better radiator hose clamp?

Nobody has any advice huh? Ok, well, Yesterday I picked up a cheap propane torch, acid flux, acid core solder, wire brush, emery cloth, copper solder tip to heat with the torch. The only thing I forgot was etching solution. I'll give it a try and let you know.

    Better radiator hose clamp?

My log says I first had leakage issues in 11/2009. Just this weekend I found a hairline crack about 4" long along the outer edge of the radiator top. It must have been there all along as a leak there would present exactly like my pictures. It lies right in the bottom of the groove. My family...

Drive Train noise; help in diagnosing please

U joints are all new within the last year or so. I'll drop the rear drive shaft, push my diff lock switch and see if the noise goes away. Thanks for your help.

Drive Train noise; help in diagnosing please

I have a low volume whine. For a long time I have thought it was the transfer case because the noise seems to come from there but in thinking about how tough those are, I am not so sure now. I also got to thinking about how noise might transfer up the drive shaft from the differential. It...

    Perfect alignment of belt pulleys

I have a startup squeal that I have put up with for at least a year. The squeal lasts for at most 3 minutes but it is embarrassing and I would solve it if I knew how. I have done the conversion to a 130 amp Tacoma alternator and I also have a York On Board Air setup mounted where the PAIR...

    Driveline phase question (real time)

I figured it out. I had replaced the u joint on the front of the rear shaft recently ( like a year ago). It turns out that the older u joint had been damaged by the failure of the other. When I mounted it back on the truck I did notice some play in the older u joint. Well, that play is what...

    Driveline phase question (real time)

I just finished replacing my rear driveshaft u joints. I drove it and now I have bad vibration. I marked everything and thought I put it back together the same way but I must have screwed up. The question now is how do I fix it? I am thinking the drive flanges are out of phase but what does...

    Cel Code 25 & 26

Thats possible I guess. I'll take a look. I just replaced from the cats back but the headers are original so I could have a leak up there or a loose header. Thanks for the info.

    Cel Code 25 & 26

There was no follow up to this but I was wondering what would cause both the 25 lean and the 26 rich. My truck is throwing both of these together. I am thinking the only likely culprit would be O2 sensors. Anyone agree/disagree. What else could cause both?

Power window problem - another thread

I wanted to take the time to write a couple of window problems I had and how they were resolved. First the window slowness: My window had basically stopped going up and down entirely. I could help it up or down with my hand but the motor power alone would not do it. Replacing the window...

Broken Wire - No Electrical at all

I got it. I found another pic which showed that eyelet directly on the post of the battery. Mine won't reach that far since my posts are at the front of the truck but I wired it up. Thanks all.

Broken Wire - No Electrical at all

OK, I got my new fusable link from the dealership. Now I am trying to hook them up properly when my truck had alterations before I got it and alterations by me and I now want the fuses in the right place with no bypasses. This link has a pic in the first post which helps a lot...

That's nothing, good thing my pic doesn't show the whole engine bay :-)

Broken Wire - No Electrical at all

Ok, so it's a fusible link but where is the other side of it? I have looked and looked and can't find it. All I found is that stub you see in the pic.

Broken Wire - No Electrical at all

I made a trail fix on this so I am up and running but now I need to fix it for real. The attached pic is of a wire block where it seems a wire has broken and caused my truck to lose all electrical power. I was driving a trail when I went over a large whoopty (like a massive speed bump) and when...

    Supercharger, bigger injectors and Unichip

Are you sure your cruiser doesn't have a transmision intercooler? Our US spec ones do. Check for a smaller radiator in front of your engine radiator on the lower right (when looking at the front). If you trace the lines from that you will find it goes to the transmission.
