Want to improve articulation. Don't want to go SOA just yet. Seen the revolving/hinged type shackles.
Who does them? Did a search on forum but didn't get far.........
Thanks! Will take it along to local american car spares shop & see what they come up with.
Local clutch reliming shop has similar size clutch but without the springs............ May use that as last resort..........
Bassed in the UK. Have an American import fj40 with a 350 sbc conversion mated to a standard 3 sod Toyota box
Need a clutch urgently but require a part number....... Make? Is it a chevy part or Toyota??
10 spline clutch 1"1/8 across
Plate diameter 11"3/4
Bellhousing is chevy
Engine is at TDC, spark is ok. Holley seems fine also.
Did compression check, no 1 was at 100, the rest between 90 & 80
Perhaps valves not seated properly? Was told it could be a worn cam shaft.
Have a 350 lying in the garage. If I'm gonna open an engine, it may as well be the 350 & build it...
Been having little bitof a problem getting a new (ish?) built 305 off ebay :bang::bang: (i know.....:censor:)
Anyway, last resort, thought I'd make sure the cam was in the right position. Took the cover off & got oil spilling out.
Oil & petrol that is  ........... Now, question is...
Was occasional, now squesks all the time as the front moves up/down on bumps etc. 100 has AHC
Is getting annoying now. Any ideas on what it is? Squesks from both sides.:flipoff2:
Put sbc into my 40, was running ok, little missfire & rich.
Now, won't start! There is fuel & have spark. Twiddled with carb (holley) and have both rich/lean screws out 2 turns.
What should I be looking at for fault?
Just finished sbc install, well almost. Fired engine up but way too much pressure from the holley fuel pump. I have a 3 port holley fuel pressure regulator. Has 1x in & 2x outs........... What pressure do I set it at?
Help!
