    Another dreaded lift question...

I've run both Odessa and Doran with 33's, conditions and trails change all the times. The size and width of the 80's makes Calico more interesting then when I take my smaller truck.

    Another dreaded lift question...

Been running a 2.5" lift with some spacers for the longest with 35's (deflared) that I swap on for wheelin'. Done fine pretty much everywhere: Rubithon, CruiseMoab, everything in Big Bear, etc.

    Holcomb Creek is open!

 Super stoked that 3N93 is finally open to the GP again. One of my favorite trails in big bear. Worked on this one several times over the years, bit different now and still recovering so have fun but take it easy. Will most likely need some more work after the summer season so watch...

As promised. My New 97 LX 450

daaaaaaammmmn is right, looks like one of those rare "Barn" finds or something. What's the story on this one? Sitting in somebodies garage for years not driven? elderly couple?. Somebody was Religionist with the care of this one.

    Teardropin' in the Mojave

Nice, great concept. Pricing is competitive like you mentioned but paying 2x for what I did for my cruiser just for a new trailer would be tough to justify. Are these hard to find used? Any way to get the price point say below 10k? Compared to the 15k for the setup dave tested...

    OUCH!

Yeah feel for you  Been three years running for me getting regular epidural/cortisone shots. The vertical ones in my case for the sciatic nerve near L4 can be painful the first shot. Four of mine lower left: Two bulging occasionally, one disintegrating, one arthritic. Most painful for...

    My '96 FZJ80 Build Thread

The fun of starting over  Is that the factory paint job? I two-toned my '94 green (darker grey to match the shortbus and DIY labs bumpers) but have'nt seen others like this one.

    Cracked rear drive shaft?

During some routine maintenance I noticed something strange by the yoke end of the rear driveshaft nearest the tcase. Looked cracked to me but its funny (rasied on that side) in the casting looks like it may have been that way for a while with the layers of dirt I cleaned off. Regardless I...

Need opinions on electric aux fans

After a trip up to BB my first summer 4wheelin LO with the cruiser I installed one with an ARB type rocker switch for the factory look. For 4Lo climbing all day in the heat the aux fan helps a bunch, don’t use it much on the highway with the blue fan + oil mod but on the way back from Vegas...

    New Intake Hose

Yeah did they same to mine about 3 yrs ago when the Original cracked while I was on a road trip. No yoda dealers around for many many miles so i went to vatozone and picked up the bling tube and two silicone couplers (blue) that were bundled together: ~ $25 in the accessories section I recall...

    Say a Prayer

Good luck  been there done that :( Mine went out on a road trip also few years ago, lucky for me It was right before a offramp. Started to run really rough and temp shot up all of sudden. After it cooled down i could see air bubbles after I refilled so I knew right away and had it...

    BBQ Grill Advice

Been really happy with my small portable Pilot Infrared Stainless Grill knockoff I bought about year in half ago, ~ $200 on flea bay. Cooks really fast, meat in 5 mins or less. Search for “Portable Infrared grill” and a bunch should come up. SOLAIRE’s go for 300+ but I heard the quality is top...

    Save the Date.

Good deal, something near downtown would be better for me, no way can I make to the valley and back on a weekday during lunch when I'm working, so weekends and downtown are a plus. Sunday's would be nice also, almost always have team sports or the like for the kids on Saturday.

    From FJC to 80?

Yeah, never really liked the suicide doors or rear seating for kids on the FCJ's either. Been great having the extra room compared to my '87 runner for the kids. After the 2nd one we needed more room on trips. Look for the nicest '97 with factory lockers you can afford. Safer with...

Installed some new pro comp shocks in the rear

Yup been running those pro comp's for years, been happy with them for the most part. Had one leak late last year and 4WP's replaced it for free even after 4 years of use. Think they were spec's for chevy or ford lifted pickup trucks if I remember correctly. Bought new bushings for mine also...

    Breaking stuff in Baja

Been running that same latch on my DIY 4x4 labs for years over lots of stuff, mounted vertically no pad. Tight, forget the torque setting I used? every once in a while seems like it loosens somewhat and I have to tighten Seen those types of u-bolts at the HW store, Maybe I’ll pick up a...

    New RV

Nice  did you buy new or used? I've towed by buddies old school fleetwood pop-up w/ my 4x4 labs DIY bumper with the stock size tires and it does pretty well. With the 35's gear change or SC is really needed when towing IMO. Brian
