alternator
the last post makes me think you may have solved it for me. I think it may be my voltage regulator. Near the same time as my problems started, my truck would start but it would not charge, until I revved up the truck. Maybe it is grounding out or drawing too much current anyways...
I hope someone will be able to point me int he correct direction. I have a '83 bj60 canadian spec 12v, that likes to pop the engine fuse. I have gone through about 15 fuses over the last 6 months. I ended up going all the way up to 40 amp fuses over the correct 15 amp. At this point I realize...
I think you may need to realize that you have live wires to the lights, and the switch completes the circuit to ground everything. that is why lights with metal cases will stay on with the switch off. At least that is the way it is on my hj61. I have never had issues with my bj70, but I am...
be careful right now about going through fargo or anywhere near the red river. alot of the area is flooding and roads are closing. I94 is nice and smooth. rolly in MN. but you still need to cross the red river. the forcast is also for rain.
but speed requires HP. You can do alot to keep the truck running in the powerband but if you have alot of wind, or create your wind by speed you still need the horspower to maintain speed.
You also have to deal with fees of the registrar of imported vehicles.. I have stories of dealing with them.. You should see the list of vehicles not allowed into canada.. and alot of those are ones you would not think would be a problem.
That is the way I am thinking.. going to try to make it till the end of the school year(teach).
Anyone have a suggestion on a head gasket genuine toyota or someone aftermarket. does fel-pro build a gasket for the 3b diesel?
I think it has more to do with weight or air restriction. it is not too powerful of a machine. I pull a trailer all the time. but it weighs about 3 to 4 thousand pounds and sucks. if you are only pulling a thousand pounds and nothing sticks out beyond the truck it should be fine.
you need to have the title 72h at the USA side of port for them to run a check that it is not a stolen vehicle or whatever else.. 72 hours before you intend to leave the country.
know your poe and get the fax I am rather sure a copy is sufficient been a few years but that even applies...
I have had an oil leak at the back of my engine for ever. 3b diesel, head replaced a few years ago genuine toyota head gasket never retorqued. always thought it was the rear main seal. but now I get a wiff of burnt oil. lifted it up on the hoist thinking the valve cover gasket was dripping...
my bj60 does the same on very cold days. I usually stall it out. the nest time I use it all is fine. I am rather sure everyting is gummed up a little and the cold just makes it worse.
My hj61 has power to the lights all the time and the switch completes the ground.. So when I changed light bodies and the metalic housings vibrated a little, they started to ground out and the circuit was complete. they were on all by themselves.. Alot of very upset truckers, consiering that I...
I run a tire shop in Canada. bias tires are dieing her in northamerica. Very few and far between.
Michelin xcl's are great tires, but I have not seen them here in canada for a long time. I think the canadian military has them, but that is for them and getting new is not possible, but you should...
Just take off the ring or lock or whatever you want to call it and measure the diameter. split rims are dangerous. many people have been killed with them blowing apart without having them installed properly. buy some drop centre wheels an never have to worry. I know of alot of tire ships that...
I paid 10 k for a hj61 turbo, that had 203 000 kms and almost no rust, absolutly no frame rust.
it is right hand drive, but it has less than half the miles and the interior is far superior to anything ever offered in northamerica. The seats are fantastic, not like a church pew.
We are back into ND tonight. staying at dickinson. Had the trans flushed at jiffylube. went to a trans shop and they did not want to help, said they were busy for a week. I asked If I could use the hoist nnnOOPPPEE!!!
So I asked if I could borrow aa wrench and a chunk of cardboard.. Nope...
How old is the engine. if it is modern it will rev quite high. should not be that different from any other diesel out in the world.
Is it from an irrigation pump or maybe a power plant
