Right...but I knew that:doh:.
Okay, so I detached the two sets of them:
not knowing the destination of any of the three on the left or the one on the right. ALL of them pass continuity at 0Ω, but, although the one on the right looks perfect visually, each of the three wires coming from the...
This regards my 1988 FJ62 with original 3F-E engine.
I've been running through the electricals trying to determine why the engine cranks beautifully (and I smell gas so I believe it's not a fuel pump issue) but I get no firing. No sparky at plugs; no voltage at igniter wires as they enter the...
Looks as though I'll be taking the Heavy Hauler - 32' gooseneck - back home at the end of this month. I will NOT have room for a full vehicle, but might be able to assist in the way of parts. As I've written just moments ago, also am looking for assitance in getting our FJ62 from Utah to...
As I've gotten no help from family in getting our FJ62 (which also I still MIGHT consider selling there....) from there to here, can anyone suggest any assistance? Thanks in advance....
I determined that it's a re-build for my 62's A440F transmission. Dirty brown and stinking like a burnt phone book? I could kick the can down the road by doing a full flush...but after 190,000 miles, there's a reason that fluid's burnt.
However......I'm not hugely qualified to perform that...
Thanks Murf and very good to meet you. I'll try to post up enough for a ROTM....but probably has to wait at least until we're back in the autumn as our internet connection in Alaska is...well, we run it over telegraph lines strung up atop caribou antlers.....
I tested the relays - they are strange ones - and although both contact properly, I've no continuity between the two legs one one of them where there is continuity on the other. That is never a good sign....but given these things go for unobtanium prices, I fear I have to endure the horrors and...
How are you finding the console's top as an armrest? Certainly, it's higher then OEM, but is it too far a-stern to be useful?
And have you a clever location for the radio's hand mike? In your pictures I see it....not.
Took our new '88 FJ62 & Easter-visiting sister and niece out for its shake-down trip: out to Stanton===>Octave====>Box Canyon===>Rincon===>Scenic Loop===>Rincon. For a Beautimobile, it performed amazingly: not one mote of dust entered! That route isn't the best for highway tires, but it's okay...
First: This most definitely is a First World Problem, in that the '88 62 I have just bought is so close to dealer-showroom perfection that I have to search really hard to find little problems.
I have been able to amass a very small number of them, though, and here's one:
The driver's door...
As partial prep for the long drive back home to Alaska, made use of some cabinet-grade birch ply...that had warped and so no good for furniture...to make:
1. a bed. Cut up a king gel-memory foam mattress to fit right; and
2. some definitely on-the-cheap slide-outs underneath: a couple of bucks...
