Update - Replaced the fuel filter and plug wires. Forgot I only had 1/2 tank of gas and figured I may have gotten some moisture from it being so humid in my area. Added fuel additive to dry it out. Also added some Seafoam to the crankcase oil and through the carb.

Thanks for the tech link. The distributir has a grove where I presume the clamp was originally. With the distributor set as pictured and the clamp in place, their is about a 2 quarter gap between the clamp and where the machined section begins. This puts the o-ring just about flush...

No I do not know what it was before but I can try tro get it back so that it was idling at the same RPM. The idle hung around 850RPM. I will try advancing it to see if that takes care of it. I thought I did that last night but I lost track of things I tried.

The idle is not smooth and steady. It hangs around 750RPM then jumps between 650 and 800 RPM. I am just afraid that their is a problem in addtion or keeping it from getting to the idle circuit. If it did I would be able to stall it out using the idle mixture adjustment screw.
