I believe the airbag sensor is on or near the frame rail below the radiator in a metal cylinder- I could be wrong.
It's possible that wire was disconnected or damaged. Crawl under and look for loose or crushed wires.
look up 'plastic weld' and 3M automotive plastic epoxy for the type of plastic.
It looks like PP polypropolyene or could be ABS or PVC
3M has some good adhesives- look at professional grade on their website.

If you want to reinstall the cladding, I would take all the door cards off to reach the backside of all the plastic clips.
Otherwise, the risk of breaking clips and brackets is high. There are probably a 100 clips total.

4Lo+D is good if you don't want to lug the motor. There are a lot of grades and elev changes that 4Hi just ends up lugging the motor.
You can do 2nd start so you don't have that slap out of 1st in 4Lo on more level...
