    Wheel cylinders NOT handed/side specific?

So, I’ve replaced wheel cylinders in the past and never thought about them being handed or side specific. These days I always consult my FSM and it looks like maybe there is a spring in one side and not the other? Does that sound correct? Are my eyes deceiving me? If not, does that mean that...

    2H exhaust manifold

I posted this in the diesel section. It’s a few questions about my 1986 HJ60. I am replacing all of the gaskets/seals/o-rings in my exhaust system and just have 2 questions: 1: the o-rings that are to be installed in the two part exhaust manifold get placed under the snap rings in the grooves...

    2H Exhaust

I am replacing all of the gaskets/seals/o-rings in my exhaust system and just have 2 questions: 1: the o-rings that are to be installed in the two part exhaust manifold get placed under the snap rings in the grooves, correct? (I have new snap rings and o-rings). When I popped it apart, there...

    HJ60/FJ60 suspension springs compatibility

Are there major differences between HJ60 and FJ60 suspension springs? I’ve owned both and I would imagine that the 2H is heavier than the 2F but maybe not that much heavier? Other than Possible weight differential, are the dimensions the same? Could FJ60 springs be used on an HJ60? Thanks!

    Exhaust manifold gaskets 1986 HJ60 2H engine

I am gearing up to change out my exhaust manifold gaskets because I have a leak at one or two of them, but before I jump into this job I want to make sure I have all of the parts I need. Do I need a flange gasket for the down pipe and o-rings and lock washers for the two halves of the manifold...

    V8 Troopy in Washington

Hey! My wife and I passed a rad V8 Troopy in Washington today on our back to Seattle. We were driving back from the east side in my diesel 86 HJ60. We were driving back from Eastern Washington and saw a pop top outfitted Troopy in my rear view mirror. I slowed down and we all exchanged waves...

    Wheel bearing preload

I know this has been hashed out a few times, but just to check: I installed new wheel bearings the other day. I believe I followed the FSM correctly, but just wanna run the "Frictional Force plus 0.9 - 7.3 lb." part by you guys. I torqued the adjusting nut to 43 ft. lbs. (spin left and right)...

    Spring options for HJ60

Hey, so what are my options for stock spring height for my 1986 HJ60? My springs are toast. I wanna keep it at a roughly stock height. Not really into the look of lifts anymore. I want a stock look. Although I agree a good lift will probably ride nice or better than what came stock. Anyway...

All 70 series pickups in Canada mine trucks?

I think I read the answer to my question a few years ago but now I can't find the thread. Were all Land Cruiser 70 series pickups in Canada, mine trucks only? I feel like the answer is "Yes"

Wanted  Seattle - Rear axle (FF/SF) or 3rd member HJ60

Curious if anybody has a rear axle (Full float preferably) or even a third member in good shape that they’d like to sell. My differential took a crap in the last couple days and now I’m wondering about swapping in a rebuilt axle, 3rd member or even contemplating getting my hands on a full...

    Rear pinion seal and bearing

So, I figure this might open up a can of worms, but here goes: I need to change my rear pinion seal on my 1986 HJ60. Couple factors though: 1: it IS slinging oil all up around the underside of my cruiser. This leads me to believe it also needs the upper/outer pinion bearing replaced. 2: Before...

    H55F Transmission Replacement

So, I am planning on doing a transmission replacement in my 1986 HJ60 here in about a month or two. I'll be getting a new H55F from a local Toyota dealership. All other parts such as the clutch kit and a transfer case rebuild kit, I will be getting from @cruiseroutfit I'm also resealing the...

    H55F prices

Hey, I’m curious if you guys know what the going rate is for a new H55F? Toyota of Seattle wants $3300 and I could pick it up tomorrow. But that sounds a little steep. Any other ideas? I think my transmission needs a rebuild, so I’m just gonna buy new and swap in a new unit.

HJ60 Power Steering return line replacement

Hello, So my power steering return line (hard line portion) just sprung a leak yesterday. I'm having a difficult time sourcing a replacement. Since it's just the return line, can I just route a length of flexible power steering line and just nix the hard line? It appears that the hard line is...

Are Latin American Land Cruisers made in Latin America?

Just curious. I see guys selling them every once in awhile and the interiors look strange (some look cheap) and the ID plates look different as well. So are they manufactured in Brazil or something, like the Volkswagen buses and bugs? For the record, I'm only asking out of curiosity...

    BJ70 to BJ75 Ute conversion

So, crazy idea: what do you guys think of chopping a 1985 BJ70 down and converting it into a BJ75? Is that perverse? Heh. I currently own a 1985 BJ70 and a 1986 HJ60 and even though they are great, if I had my choice, I’d gladly give them both up for a 70 series Ute. I thought I could finally be...

For Sale  1985 BJ70 Land cruiser WA, USA

I apologize that it has taken me so long to get this up for sale on the forum, but I finally have taken the time to do so. This is my JDM 1985 BJ70 Land Cruiser. I am selling it because I now own 2 Land Cruisers and I just don't need 2 of them. It has the 3B Diesel and the H55 - 5 speed manual...

    HJ60 Rear wiper MYSTERY

Hey, so I am finally back in the 60 series forum. After selling my FJ60 about 6 years ago, I decided to buy a 1985 BJ70 a while back and have found it to be a bit too small for me. Recently I found an HJ60 and I'm very pleased. It is a 1986 with a 5 speed and is turning out to be my dream...
