Looking for a set of usable tank straps. Mine are toast. Getting ready to fab something up, but wanted to see if there were any out there to be had.
Thanks

Feb. 1983 FJ60. Purchased Aug. 2005 with 198k miles. 2F still running well. H42 still shifting fine. 4WD works well. Never had any major mech issues in the time I've owned it. Currently the carb needs cleaned or adjusted, requires a little choke to idle. She has spent more time...
"You're beard is majestic." -Salsarita's girl
My wife hates my beard. And she refuses to believe that girls compliment it. Brought me great joy to tell her this latest comment. Her response was "was she a dirty hippie?"
Thought I would start a new thread so we don't clog up other ones.
60 will not idle without choke. The issue was present before desmog, I was just hoping it was vacuum related with all the smog stuff. But no luck. Desmog is complete and still will only idle with choke. I tested the ICS by...
I don't know squat about p/s pumps, but it looks to me like the shaft and maybe the pulley are toast. Hard to see in the pic of the pulley, but the left side has been bored out a little.
A piece came out/off when I removed the pulley. It was the "guide" on the shaft to align the pulley...

I took the old side panels and traced them on .25" plywood and cut to fit...
Bell housing pan (flywheel/clutch inspection cover?) from 86 fit 83?
I'm not too sure about the proper terminology...."bellhousing pan" or "flywheel/clutch inspection cover."
Mine has been MIA since the day I bought the truck. Is the bell housing the same from 83 to 86? Or will an 86 cover...
Not much to post about cruiser related in my neck of the woods as of late.
I pulled my carb on Valentine's day and sent it off to JimC. Figured I wouldn't be doing a lot of cruisin' with a newborn in the crib.
But anywho.....here is Jackson Edward Goode

I discovered a loose/disconnected hose. Did some reading and from what I gather, it should be going to the dizzy to provide clean air from inside the cabin.
Well, the two ports on top of the dizzy are connected to something already. I'm guessing one of these are wrong.
Here is the...
