The original had cracked and was in two parts - I glued the piece that broke off back on years ago but you could still see the crack. So, decided to finally make it right, easy and relatively cheap project. Made some mistakes, so figured I'd share:
- Toyota Part No.: 75435-60040 - 80 Series...
The weather is turning cold which means the original liftgate supports on my '94 are useless. I've gotten hit in the head plenty of times and after trying some jerry rigged options (bungie cords), I decided to replace the supports.
As I'm sure y'all know, the OEM Toyota lifts are $100+ EACH...
Thanks guys - so there are drains at the front and rear of the sunroof? And the front ones from my pics drain to the rocker panels? I do hear water sloshing around when I go around turns. How do I drain them? Is the recommendation to run a wire into all four(?) of the drains?
We've been getting a ton of rain and carpet in the front footwells of my Cruiser is soaked. From doing some reading I've surmised that it related to the drains in the sunroof. I took off the plastic thing covering the front of the sunroof, blew out all the leaves and debris with a blower and...
Great info as always guys, thanks for very much. I have a PM in with Cruiser Dan on the off chance the recall wasn't performed on my VIN. Sounds like doing both makes sense. Glad to hear there are only two sensors, I have a buddy with a 100 series and it seems like he's replacing them a lot (I...
Hi all - loving my new '94 but got a CEL a few weeks after purchase. Pulled battery and it cleared for a week then came back on, pulled batter again and back on in a day, so I guess I need to do something! I did the paperclip trick and it's a code 28, #2 O2 sensor. Questions:
- about how much...
Enjoyed reading this thread. I just got a '94 and have been dealing with a couple of things. Needed new inner axle seals in the front. Coolant flush and I have a leaking oil pan. Other than that in good shape. I paid a lot more than the OP though, granted for 111k miles and everything working...
Appreciate all the kudos and info guys. She's in the shop at the moment, hope to pickup today. Apparently the axle seals were leaking pretty bad, they're going to replace all the fluids in the axle and diff (I think). Also, on the suspension, I think I'm going to have and Old Man Emu 2.5...
Hi all, happy to say I've joined the club! After years of on and off looking at 80 and 100 series, I pulled the trigger on a 1994. She's all stock with lockers, 111k miles, every option I know of and in great shape. Bought from original owner who says he paid just shy of $50k for in '94 (is that...
I found a 1994 in great shape with only 110k miles, would love to know the history on this beauty. $35 seems steep for one report, I guess I'm so used to getting them for free at dealers. This one is private party.
Thanks,
John
Hi Guys - sorry, been busy past couple of weeks. FJTex, my wife's not a big fan of the name "Dirk" either, I think it would be awesome for boy #2 if that ever happens. Hell, Cussler named his own son Dirk!
arcteryx, that BJ70 is awesome, never seen anything like it! Not sure how it would work...
Thanks guys, now I just need to sell my Pathfinder (or trade it in I guess if I can find a decent dealer listing). I guess if I sold it that would *really* motivate me to make a decision! ;-)
There are some certified pre-owned Cruisers outside of Austin, 7yr/100k powertrain warranty. I...
Thanks Jason, I appreciate the info. From reading the 100 series forum it seems most agree a newer, higher mileage (vs. older low mileage) 100 is going to be my best bet. Now to find one, been searching Dallas lately as Austin has few. I'll definitely post what happens, hope it all works out...
Hi all - glad to find this forum. I've always admired Land Cruiser's and lately have had them on the brain. A buddy of mine has a 100 and loves it. I'm growing bored with my '02 Pathfinder and am thinking about upgrading to a Cruiser. I've been searching Craigslist, Autotrader and eBay to try to...
