The plasti-dip spray on stuff might be a good option for the oem grill, you can get it in matte black. And I think it comes off too if you don't like it, though I"m not sure whats all involved in removal. I'm happy with my grill overall. I did save my OEM one in case I want to switch back some day.
Hey, just curious how you went about doing the faceplate mod on that? I have this grill on my LX470 and I'd like to see it with the Lexus "L" logo rather then the text. Was thinking of doing something similar to yours but with the L rather than the teq.
I tapped into the corner light, which was a pita to get off. I actually pulled the lens cover off the unit itself and had to use clear jb weld to get it back on (ugh). I pulled the light off and cut the green wire, stripped a bit back, put some heat shrink on and twisted the raptor light wires...
So I finally got my "oil leak" looked at. Its not the engine (or oil) at all. Its the steering rack. I should've maybe thought that when I realized my power steering reservoir was almost void of ATF. I filled it up and there is still a leak wherever I park but I don't see a noticeable drop in...
You know, after having this grill in for a while I'm pretty happy with it, the only thing that I think would be cool if one of these companies offered would be a Lexus L logo insert that would fit in the opening where you insert the silver Lexus "word" logo. They'd obviously need filler on...
there are at least a couple other places that sell these grills. trailrunnercustoms is one site. I remember there was another one but can't recall the site. Do a search for LX470 TRD grill and you'll find a site that sells them.
I had an issue with the AHC on a recently purchased 03 LX470. It stayed in normal or neutral mode just fine, I even pulled a 3500lb camper with no weight distribution and it leveled itself out just fine. But then one day (with no camper) I went and put it in high and just sat there for a minute...
Likely something the previous owner installed that is no longer hooked up to anything? I guess I’d have to follow the wires to really figure it out. It just seems funny to have an on/on switch.
Ok here is another functionality question that I can’t seem to find anywhere in the forum. In place of a night vision dial I have an “on/on” rocker switch. Can’t seem to figure out exactly what it is turning on. 😂
Any thoughts?
I seem to be having somewhat similar issues but it doesn’t become apparent until I’m about 1.5 hrs into a drive at highway speeds. I’m driving along fine at 70mph, rpm’s are around 2300 to start but then after about 1.5 hrs or so, my rpm’s are at about 3700 or so at 70mph. Any thoughts why it...
Good to know. Is that a pretty big project (as in expensive) to have fixed? I keep checking the oil and it doesn’t seem to be dropping, although I know it is somewhat just based on seeing oil in the driveway.
