you and i are in a similar boat, what i've been thinking about (call me crazy... if you must) is doing your typical 3" suspension lift with whatever coilovers you can find and supplementing it with a 1" body lift. i've seen a few 4rnrs of our generation with body lifts so i think adapting them...
wow.. been hangin out in the blue forum for a while and i'm startin to miss this place... seems like a lot of the anti FJc crowd has coold off a little
i soooo wanted a color like that, but they didnt have it when i got mine :( but i realized that after wheeling my sunbusrt yellow kinda "looks" sandstorm-ish, is that close enough?
well FWIW CruiserLarry on FJcruiserforums made some valid assertions that have convinced me to hold off on the 6" for now. i do love the height, i think it's perfect, but the fact that it uses the stock coils and shocks, and isint compatible with any current skids will prolly make me keep it to...
quality aside because a) nobody really has THAT much experience with either the OME or the TC ifts yet and i dont need ppl spouting off their own opinions in an area that they dont have any solid ofundation of reasoning and b) both OME and TC make notoriously good quality products so sombody...
interesting, i really really REALLY hope theres a way to retrofit the 07' when/if a removable comes out... THIS is what i really wanted in the first place and i'd hate to have to try and trade mine in for a new one.
this is a good point. Runner Ryans rig may not have worked as well on a trail as a truck with 33" or 35"s but look at the pics and tell me it dont look sweeeeet.
before you dive make sure to extend the rear diff breather tube! once or twice through a stream is no biggie but you dont wanna be fording riveres with the stock setup. the mod is in the $5-$20 range so jsut break down and do it! save your diff!
well hopefully in the next few months i may be able to scrape enough change together and buy a lift kit, i'm still not 100% on where i wanna go though, i've obvioulsy read alot about the OME lift and heard nothing but good news and am strongly considering this. however with the new rough country...
please note that this is only due to the aforementioned large car payment. i'd love to have a 60, those are some great rigs. buddy of mine had a tan one, i was always impressed taht such a big beast felt so small.
Runner Ryan has crammed 37" Krawlers under his rig with 3" of lift, however he did do quite a bit of trimming... IMO it was worth it, it looks badass. theres a thread showing how he did it if your dilligent enough to search for it... i'm too lazy... meh... btw, welcome to mud!
indeed thanks... i'm looking foward to building my FJc for expedition use, and it seems most ppl are looking to crawl them, which jsut seems counter intuitive when i think about the design of this truck. so hopefully this will be a great resource. in fact. if anyone (which would seem to be most...
i've been contemplating a viair system like the one below
anyone have any experience with these? its 100% duty cycle @ 100PSI, i believe.
check their site

well as far as the bumper.. yeah, it sucks... but how many FJ 40s have OEM bumpers on em? virtually none because they suck too.
its ok to have a truck that looks slightly retarded from the showroom, getting the mods to make J**p owners pee themselves is half the fun.
frankly if they dont...
not BFG just All Terrain... at least, so i heard. i wouldnt mind seeing an all white one though... i'd been considering painting mine all white down the road
