Just about to start putting one into a HJ47 :)

Bringing up an old thread but how did you go I've got a 1hz and I'm hoping to run factory hj47 manual steer untill I get the money to do the power steering conversion correctly can the pump simply be removed ?
Bugger was hoping one of you would be quite knowledgeable with this conversion :D I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that someone can help chime in!
I've got a load of questions that would probably drag out this thread I started my own on the 40 section if you don't mind having a look...
If you could pm me a way to contact you FB or some social that'd be amazing an much appreciated
Hi all!
After working over both of the 2H engines that came with my HJ47 Ute it seems both are low on compression and needing rebuilds.
Luckily I've obtained a complete HZJ75 troopy as a doner car with a 1HZ turbo and going to attempt s conversion but have a load of questions before removing...
Hey mate are you still around the forums I'm looking to swap a 2H out of a HJ47 for a 1hz and like you have loads of questions to ask!
Looks like you where on the right part! Would love to here more...
Cheers
Trent
Digging up an old post but are either of you 1hz owners around still I'm about to start a 1hz into a hj47 Ute over in Australia would love to have a chat regarding wiring and where to start!
Well I decided to go KBS system it's ok but not what they crack it up to be you really need to get good coverage with it the kit for me barely lasted enough to do the chassis alone...
The top coats easy to not coat over the bottom coat being a black on black there's definitely bits I missed an...
well for $30 I've purchased one of these kits that seem to be all over amazon + ebay... don't have extreme high hopes for it but for $30 worth a crack..... I'll report back on how I go, I'll try some local dune sand which is in high abundance in WA and see if not I'll try pop 2hrs up the road to...
@Malleus I did get a few frame drawings and the width matches along the frame however cross sections on the drawing I had to don't seem to match my point's but my body mounts do look out of wack and there for my diagonals on the top section of the frame are off even just measuring off just the...
@45Dougal Ahhh right makes more sense now I guess if those mount's are square and correct thing should drive right, regardless of the fame being out ? unfortunately no laser at this point could only afford a decent dewalt impact wrench :D
appreciate the feedback and advice, my first proper full...
Good idea with the second chassis have been trying to use that as reference as much as possible for measurements...
Yeah was wondering if the rivets are off and some of the mounts which seems they may be from factory..
Any chance you could explain where the spring mounts are ? I'm guessing...
Hi all,
Currently stripping my HJ47 Ute back to it's frame and am checking it over for squareness. Pretty new to this and unfortunately the second frame I had which I was hoping to use has far too much internal rust to consider it so I'm trying to seek some advice on how bad the frame I have is...
yeah they do need a good wash utes been sitting in a barn for last 15 years... slowly getting it back to just the frame then going to give it a good blast, prep and paint and build up from there!
Good to know I'm thinking I might buy KBS and have sent them emails and gotten decent reply's and being a local aussie company that contact's you back makes me feel a little better so seems that's the way I might be headed!
cheers for the info on por15 i'd assumed the same just wanted to confirm!
Hey all, long time lurker recently purchased two HJ47's for a steal and starting my resto to combine them into hopefully one but first to attack is the frame!
All in all pretty sound, years of good old Aussie red dust build up, surface rust but nothing to serious from what I can tell hitting it...
