    Delta VS Radius Arms

With ~2.0" measured front lift, the 2" Delta arms netted me 2.2 deg caster. My vote in your case would be for the 3" arms.

(reman) calipers, rotors and pads (and speedbleeders)?

Not necessarily defending Napa, but that is a 5 year old thread and things can change. I would never put anything that looked like the examples in that thread on my truck. The pistons on the calipers I got don't look like that, the bleeders work fine, and the pins on the floating rear calipers...

(reman) calipers, rotors and pads (and speedbleeders)?

I have about 6 months on Napa caliper rebuilds in the rear with no issues. Have the fronts to swap on but haven't got around to them yet.

    Help diagnosing front end clunk

I had a friend cranking on the steering wheel while I was underneath and still can't pinpoint the clunking. Nothing is visually loose, but it's something connected to the steering rod. Going to replace the TREs and if that doesn't fix it going to swap the stock steering damper back on.

    Help diagnosing front end clunk

The tie rod ones are Toyota. Not sure what came with the Ironman steering rod.

    Help diagnosing front end clunk

Thanks. Checked those and they're good. I also checked the knuckle nuts and they're fine. It sounds like a TRE in the steering link or the tie rod. The boots on them look fine, and I can't move them with my arms, but it seems like that has to be it. I'll have some help next week to turn the...

    Help diagnosing front end clunk

Thanks. I checked that the nuts are all present, but I didn't put a wrench on them. I'll go do that now. A wheeling friend suggested the same but I looked on both sides of the frame at the steering box and didn't see anything obvious. The shaft is the upgraded 105 piece and looked fine at a...

    Help diagnosing front end clunk

All bushings front and rear less than 10k miles. Ironman panhard bushings are whatever came with them. The panhard bushings don't appear torn. Ironman steering rod ends are also whatever came with them. No obvious play/leakage but not sure how much force should be required to make them...

    Help diagnosing front end clunk

I'm having some trouble diagnosing a front end clunk and could use some advice. I went wheeling a few weeks ago in a rock garden and managed to break a rear sway link, pop a hole in the exhaust, and create a clunk in the front suspension. I've fixed everything else but am having trouble...

Front Control Arm Bracket Breakage and Repair

Was about to check in and see how this was going. Damn that is some serious surgery.

    New-To-Me 1997 LX450

I don't think there should be any play. You'd want to find a cruiser shop to do the knuckle job since it's a fairly unique type of maintenance. No idea on what they'd charge but probably 1-2 days of labor. I haven't done it myself yet but supposedly it's not that difficult just messy with all...

    New-To-Me 1997 LX450

Check your steering knuckle nuts. If you look at the inside of the front tires, they are the 4 nuts on the lowest part of the knuckle. Easy to check without jacking the truck up. If they're loose or missing it's a major safety issue and you shouldn't drive it until it's fixed. Start looking...

Is there a way to trigger ABS actuator to combat spongy breakes?

When I pulled the ABS module one of the ports was dry. My theory is if the ABS goes long enough without being activated (whether by service tool or on the road) that seals within the unit corrode and no longer provide a proper seal, and once that happens it may be possible to get the fluid...

Would you but TLC with rebuilt title?

Given it's been almost 16 years and 50k miles I think it's entertainable. $12k seems a bit much though for that condition.

Let's end the control arm bushing debate

Poly bushings are crap for the most part in my opinion. Worse NVH than rubber, no torsion spring effect, and restricted articulation. They're primarily used because it's an easier material to manufacture new bushings out of and their typical 2-piece configuration simplifies installation.

    A/C Idler Pulley Replacement

This was the case for mine. Couldn't really tell until I put the new pulley on.

Is there a lower engine cover for the fzj?

Mine doesn't have this lower cover/splash guard and my belts and lower front of the engine are covered in mud/dirt. Just changed a bad AC idler pulley and there was a lot of grit caked around the circlip of the old bearing. Not sure if it's from dirt roads or mud splashing, but I'm going to...

Don't non-ABS 80s have rear drum brakes? I had assumed the different master was related to that.

    100k mile fj80 1996…blown engine

Sounds like the HG blew and pressurized the coolant system. Sorry to hear that's a nice one. I'd check around for a new OEM short block and someone to handle the rebuild and getting your cylinder head decked and rebuilt. It's not worth attempting a rebuild of your current bottom end unless...

    Steering box replacement - documented

According to the 1996 FSM the relay rod should be "approximately 1,090 mm" according to the installation section for the relay rod, while in the service data section it lists it as "approximately 1,080mm". Measurement is from the centers of the end holes.
