    orikawa SHOP THREAD

Love your work, will be ordering a set of the rear cargo panels right now for my original tan FJ60. I just am trying to sort out color, if I want to add speakers, and how I am going to also work with a seatbelt upgrade (three point seatbelts to the back seat) into this. to make the seatbelts...

Wanted  FJ62 - Rear Seat Belt Cover Trim

I have a tan 1984 FJ60 that I would love to convert to three point harness seat belts in the rear and need to source the FJ62 trim to make it elegant looking. I have the tan/Brown interior but color is less important than part if it exists still. Thank you!

    Oil Pan removal - FJ60

Resurrecting this great thread from the dead: is there anything I should look to clean or maintain or refresh once I pull the pan? I don’t want to pass on the opportunity while it is off. I am chasing leaks and starting at the oil pan then working my way back over the coming year, clutch...

    Snicklephritz87 - 60Series Restomod - Home garage restoration

Tell me about your decision to use Dissent bull bar versus an ARB. I had never heard of this company before today and now I am intrigued. Goodness it gets expensive adding swing outs but nice looking kit.

Finally!!!! Saginaw PS pump conversion kit for FJ60s!!!!!

You likely figured it all out but: 1. Brass to gearbox I think, silver to pump 2. yes you should use am o-ring with the pump, mine came with one, trying to sort out how to install it correctly 3. Yeah that is low pressure replacement and return line and clamps

Finally!!!! Saginaw PS pump conversion kit for FJ60s!!!!!

Silly question I know but where is the O-ring installed between the high pressure fitting and the new Saginaw pump? I could stretch it over the lip of the flare fitting but what I read suggests it is supposed to be squished between the flare and the pump. I am confused because flare fittings...

    Steering gear box seal kits

Did anyone else figure out how to replace the brass inserts that are in the kit? I could not figure out how to get the old brass pieces out, tried a pick inserted from both the inside of the assembly and from the outside and they didn't want to budge. They look fine so I think I am going to be...

    Steering gear box seal kits

I bought one of these Toyota kits last fall and just this weekend tore into the gearbox to do the whole thing. Taking it off the the car was no big deal, then I wasted 3-4 hours trying to get the pitman arm off of the gearbox. I have an impact driver that can supposedly deliver 700lbs of torque...

Does your rear seat rattle? Check this out...

Just wanted to post an update and thanks. These tiny rear bumpers you recreated from the original are high quality. Expensive as hell for the amount of part here but you know what, you are the only supplier on the planet as far as I know and they work. Installing them was not trivial as the fit...

    Wanted 60 series birfield

I think I am good for the moment, appreciate it. Incredibly my homemade dremel repair on the splines works great and everything spins as it should, no leaks at the moment. Thank you!

BEST AFTER MARKET HARMONIC BALANCER FOR 87 FJ-60?

Just posting an update here for 2024 reference for folks searching later that need to replace their three groove crankshaft pulley harmonic balancer assembly on their FJ60 like me. Long story short. It looks like the Dorman from O'reilly's in the US is the best option for cost and if you think...

Crank pulley / harmonic balancer has a slight wobble and oil leak - 84 fj60

That same pulley from cruiserparts.net in 2024 is now $715. Amazing. In 2006 it was $100. I wish my paycheck had grown the same over the years. @roadstr6 I just wanted to comment with thanks to your note in the thread, I know it is a long time ago. My pulley had a similar catastrophic failure...

What I could not find at a sponsor vendor and the Gates hoses (Amazon), I got from toyotapartsdeal.com. I also ordered a set of new OEM style hose clamps from cityracerllc.

FJ60 Heater and Coolant Hose Reference

@Catsfan20 how did your list work for you in updating the hoses and any changes you would make in reflection? i am doing the same process as you did a year ago right now and using your great table as a reference. For example, what did you end up doing for the hoses that have no current stocked...

    60 brake proportioning valve

Old thread but I am curious, @Sandhiller did you ever figure out the process for bleeding the static FJ60 proportioning valve? I replaced my brake master, bled the brakes correctly but feel there is still air in the system.

Finally!!!! Saginaw PS pump conversion kit for FJ60s!!!!!

Multiple people have accidentally installed the pulley backwards, and having received my kit, I can see why. It is convex on one side, concave on the other which positions the hub out of center. What is the right orientation for installation so I only press it on one time? The answer is Concave...

Finally!!!! Saginaw PS pump conversion kit for FJ60s!!!!!

Question I have not seen answered in this thread so far. For this new Saginaw, do we use Power steering fluid or ATF/Dexron (recommended for the original pump in the manual)? I have seen the question asked before and folks went either way.

[Edited] I f***ed my birfield by it to set the axlehammering past the oil seal, screwed it up.

Agreed. I don't get the trunion pinions were the obstruction part of this story because they should have stopped or impeded the birf/shaft from coming out correctly but instead both shafts slid out like butter. Your idea about the housing being bent on both sides is compelling. I will take a...

[Edited] I f***ed my birfield by it to set the axlehammering past the oil seal, screwed it up.

Ok update as I try to figure out where I was getting hung up on both sides as I had the knuckle installed on the left and right as is instructed by the FSM and any install guide before I inserted the axle. Talked to my local cruiser mechanic who did the diff regearing and relashing and he told...
