First off, I have very limited knowledge of the 12ht itself. However, I have worked on mechanical injection Cummins before. Wiring systems are my jam though!
First test, turn the key off and remove the engine relay. Does it click when you remove it? If not, try removing it with the key on. Does...
This week I finished a rear diff rebuild after the transfer case rebuild. Found that my spacer shim was missing and NLA. I made one out of an old pinion crush sleeve and a lot of elbow grease. Grinder first, then file, mic, file, mic. Got it pretty close and the diff set up really nice!

Got rid of a lot of the gear whine with 3 out of 4 new tcase gears. I couldn't justify replacing the low range gear for an additional $300. Now I find that the rear diff needs bearings and spider gears. Ugh.
Typical *eep owner! I'm sure the jeep needs more work than this beaut does! Ball joints, axle seals, pinion seals, rear main seal, oil pan gasket... J.E.E.P JUST EMPTY EVERY POCKET!
@65swb45 , what part number is your kit for the 4 speed tcase swap components? And isn't there a difference in low range on the 1975+ transfer cases vs the 3 speed cases?
I did, but I could see how the below could have happened.
The seal is torn and the spring was chewed up. I would have never guessed the spring could cause that much damage!
Thanks Mark! Correct me if I'm wrong but don't the later transfer cases have a higher low range?
Any comment on the seal wear? Do I just have the seal in backwards?
It was eaten from the transmission side. I will check the input gear when I get home on Tuesday.
For the glue, are you just talking about anaerobic sealer? Or what?
