Exactly as descibed by the others. I did find it easier to remove the rasio though. Plus I found the horrendous wiring job that the po did to wire my stereo, so I cleaned that up while I was in there.
If they do total it, buy it back. You will end up with a damage title, but if you are going to keep it forever as most of us do, then who really cares what the title says. I had a honda that got totaled and they gave me $2000. The buy back was $285 so I cleared over $1700. :D It sucks to...
It could be many different things. All have been mentioned, but I do have to go with JRHaze on this one. I had a wiring issue on my old 60 (2f). It was the fusible link right by the alternator. There was some kind of short in it. It ran like crap sometimes and great others. Turned out that...
What about aussie f and r, with a 2lo conversion? When the front axle hubs are unlocked, the aussie would not even be noticed, right? Then when wheeling, put it into 2lo to make really tight turns. Kind of selectable. :)
I made a spacer out of 1/4 in plywood and mounted that to the door. You can't tell there is a bulge. I made some before out of 1/4 in plexiglass disks that I got from tap plastics and put it between the door panel and the speaker. Fit well and looked good, but a little rice burner-ish for the...
That wagoneer would be a fun build too. I have a buddy with a 78 cherokee (same thing but just two door) and it is a lot of fun. They are pretty bullet proof too. Parts can be similar to the cruiser as they are a "somewhat" rare vehicle too. What you can find is decent priced on the jeep, but...
Could be a 62 with Aussie/European mirrors. Sway bar points towards 62 for me, but they can be added and I would guess they were a dealer option in the later years of the 60 as stated before.
I don't have the handle for the spare tire removal/jack tool. :crybaby: I have the use channel locks.:hillbilly: Oh well, but I agree that you have a tool from a mini 'cause in those it fits behind the bench. In the 60, it's a two piece.
Tie sewing thread through each hole, and cut it out as you put the bolts in. Makes changing the pan much easier by keeping the gasket lined up as you go. Good luck.
Dynosoar- My nissan key won't open, but will start my cruiser. :) The Nissan key will also open and start my subaru...it's like a magic key!
I love my cruiser because it's mine, and I have wanted one since I was 5. (When the one I one now was made, just a coincidence)
100 bucks for all four corners of oem toyota shocks seems very cheap. Are you sure that is not for Chinese knock-offs? I have run kyb on many vehicles including the cruiser and liked them. Lifetime warranty too. :bounce: Monroes should treat you well too. I have ranchos on this cruiser...
I have 33x10.50 bfg at on my cruiser with stock suspension. I would like to lift it, but can't afford it at the moment. However, I have had no problems whatsoever so far. It does not rub in corners or during flex. I don't have stock wheels (15x8 rockcrawlers), so maybe there is a difference...
Why not use something like this? May not be perfect, but the water is hot, no matter the weather. Here in Oregon, that is a concern. I could use the solar and get it HOT for about a month. Single Burner Traveler
I am with ESH, when we go hunting, we have to bring an extra tank worth of fuel in jerry cans. Could go get more fuel during the trip, but once we are out there, we are over an hour from more fuel, just easier to bring it with you.
Plus, I love driving my honda over 400 miles without filling...
Just do separate wiring. Why not use the hidden on the door speakers and rear speakers? Wire the oem stereo to the dash speaker. That's what I would do.
