Part number is as described in original post. I installed the shocks without them. Shocks bought in 2011 but never got the time nor need to install them. Since I'm doing all my brake lines, might as well install. This is a 99 LC with rear lockers. :)
Nice ride. Check that all the hard brake lines are fine, specially at/near the clips where corrosion could be hidden. I have a 99 with 183k and had rear break tube 2 sprang a major leak. At this age our trucks need some due diligence. I'm putting new brake lines (and connectors)on the entire...
Ended up not replacing. Wires were not totally toast so I separated and re-coated the individual wires with new rubber, then wrapped the whole harness with heat shield tape. It was relatively easy as I replaced my muffler too so I had large area to work with. While in there, changed my rear...
Resurrecting this thread. I also can't find where this spacer goes. Anyone who can help please? Seems like given its size, it should go in front shock before the lowest retainer to create gap between shock and lowest retainer?

The bearing inside the differential housing? How hard is it to replace that? Also, does that mean I can't reuse the tulip pictured above and need a new one?
Thanks.
Finally got the shaft removed, and understand why it was hard to remove. The inboard tulip stem (just before the spline) is pitted/scored. Picture attached showing the condition of the tulip.
Question: Can I reuse it for the moment, at least till I can replace it when the weather warms up, or...
Hi guys,
I'm trying to separate the half-shaft (CV) from the differential (passenger side) to replace it. Hammered it almost an inch away from diff but still is very tight. Isn't it supposed to slide out afterwards or do I keep hammering till it falls out? Also using pry bars to move it but...
I'm replacing the frontpipe on a '96 TLC and the nuts and bolts connecting front cat to rear cat are frozen stiff. So decided to dremel the nut almost halfway (sliced thru it on a tangent to the bolt). However the nut still won't budge even though more than a third is gone. Is this a captive...
Checked thoroughly just now and the smell is not as strong as before. Also, the smell has become more like metallic burn as opposed to rubber. Thanks for the reassurance guys.
I just replaced the exhaust manifold gaskets (to engine and front pipes) on my '96 2AB and now the engine area smells of burnt rubber even when idling. Definitely comes from the exhaust manifold area. Is it due to new gaskets getting "conditioned" to the heat? Is it normal for these gaskets to...
Regarding failure of engine to start with symptom of fuel pump not running, I suspect your crankshaft position sensor is going. Did the dealer perform a test of the sensor? That's an easy resistance test using a multimeter. Also check the camshaft position sensor.
