Growing up in Ireland I am curious if you are talking about the 200/300 TDI put in the defender 110 or the diesel lumps in the series 3 trucks.
You could get a factory turbo on series 3 but it only gave 19HP more. I will properly do EGR delete when it arrives in Aug. Does PHX still want these...
Have you played with the boost on the turbo yet? 14 PSI should be a sweet spot when it comes to extra heat. I wonder what HP gains would be with these intercooled ones getting 140HP factory. 180 to 200 would help with overtaking. You just have to install a boost T.
I'm wondering if you can just add a switch for the heated mirrors. Does anyone know if a 1997 JDM TX would have heated mirrors behind the plug? I have Idle up and electric mirrors from factory.
Synthetic won't really help this engine as it produces large amounts of soot and ash in the oil. I believe this engine needs 3K or 6K oil changes. In engines with longer oil change intervals you can really see the advantage of synthetic.
My bad mate! Rotella T4 is conventional. I must have mixed it up with T3 rotella. Anyone stateside ever use T3 before? I used to be common in Ireland until a few years ago.
T4 is the way to go for sure.
Welcome to the club. Your black grill looks like the ones Toyota made for cars sold in the UK and Irish market. It has a Japanese market bull bar though. Is yours a diesel or gasser? I have a 1997 JDM KZ95 with the 3.0 liter turbo diesel. These are fun cars!
