Poll on total brake failure in 100 series

Once again, I find what I'm looking for on Mud. Thank you. My wife has described very random, strange behavior out of our 190k 2001. I cannot get it to act up wihle I'm in it. Not complete brake failure, but rapid pedal pressure loss, and then return. ABS, VSC lights on. She has heard a metal...

Former FLCA member moved back to FL (Ft Myers) looking for friends

I just noticed there is a new Tampa Bay Land Cruiser Club. I have dreamed of starting a (family Friendly) SW FL Land Cruiser/Toyota 4WD Club. Would any of you be interested?

Former FLCA member moved back to FL (Ft Myers) looking for friends

FYI, Ft Myers is on the west coast of FL, roughly 2-3 hrs south of Tampa. I just bought another 4Runner. This one is a 99 SR5 4WD V6. Spent today trying to baseline it in prep for daily driving duty.

Former FLCA member moved back to FL (Ft Myers) looking for friends

Shawn, thanks for replying to my thread. I don't currently have a 40 but have had several over the years, and am always looking for the next one. Sadly the prices/values have gone so crazy, it will be hard for me to justify another one. I have a built '85 4runner that is my wheeling rig...

Former FLCA member moved back to FL (Ft Myers) looking for friends

I used to live in the Pinellas County and attended a few FLCA events before moving to Texas. I have moved back to FL, now in Ft Myers. I am looking for fellow Cruiserheads in this area. Obviously, the distance to events in Ocala etc will make it harder for me to attend.

Cruise Moab 2016 official new thread

I could not get Photobucket to work, but try this link to Dropbox. It is supposed to be a Public folder. When prompted to open an account, just click "No Thanks, just allow viewing"...at the bottom. I think there are some good, action/flex pics of everyone's trucks here. Enjoy. Dropbox -...

Cruise Moab 2016 official new thread

What a great time! Thanks to all of you for welcoming me. I have a TON of pics. I deleted down to just less than 400! I will try and post some here, but may have to try PhotoBucket.

Or...If not the shaft length itself, was there an overabundance of grease on the end of the shaft that got forced into the next component, and assuming it's a dead end, it would not be able to be compressed, possibly forcing the shaft in the opposite direction during assembly?

Looking at those pics again, something struck me; Is there a possiblity that not enough length was taken off the shaft, so that it bottoms out in the next component, thus forcing the shaft farther in the opposite direction during assembly, forcing the collar to slide on the shaft because it is...

In the pic it does look like the shaft decreases in diameter where the collar rides. Could be optical illusion in pic. It's kind of weird to me that there isn't a snap ring, or set bolt recess, or anything in the shaft to keep the collar from sliding. Perhaps in te stock config, there are no...

Man, am I sorry to hear this. I know it's got to be frusturating. Wish I could be helpful. I had read that thread (that suggested grinding was needed) also, but have no idea if it applies to Steve's issues. Best of luck dude.

    fix for immobilizer issue?

Well my last fix lasted about a month until it became unreliable. Yesterday my wife had the crank no start issue twice. I am so proud of her that she is not afraid to pop the hood, open the fuse box, wiggle my fused paper clip McGyver fix and get her truck to start, but not a condition I am...

    fix for immobilizer issue?

I have had a paper clip in place for over a month now w/o ANY issues, but I couldn't leave it that way. I came up with a slightly better solution that seems to work at the moment. I'm really not horribly proud of this solution, but at least now it has a fuse funciton to it to provide some sort...
