Damn, a little pricey for something that im going to break from time to time. I thinking about just sticking with the Warn set, at least I know their my weak link and have lifetime warranty
I have Longfield axles and ARB diffs. I was running the stock gears 4:10 and Warn Hubs, the bad news is I didnt buy the hubs they came on the truck when bought. I read the warr stuff from Warn and yuou must have that to get the warr. I was told that the asain hubs were stronger, but the other...
I did my 77 FJ40 and did the whole thing, Longfields, 6 shooter knuckels with ARP studs, all new bearings, 4X4 Labs high steering with the super lower bearing retainers also with ARP studs. Spring over and Alcan Springs. I found the weak link when the Warn hub blew 1/2 apart. oh yeah it has...
I blew one side of my hub out this weekend at Hollister hills:doh:, and now Im looking for a new set. Where is the best place to get a new set? or do any of you all have a set for sale.
actually it sounds like there might be air in the system, there might be a small bubble and when it gets hot it expands and it gets worse. you need to really do a good job bleeding the system out.

Look bud you need to remove the square crap in the front and reweld the mount to the frame straight up. the rear mount for the front spring nees to be cut off the use a hole saw and put a tupe clear throught the frame where you can keep the shackle from the spring at a 45 deg angle from the...
go to you tube and look up "last man standing hollister 2010" and you will see what my fj40 with a fuel injected 5.7L with a SM465 and a Marlin crawlbox with 2.28 gears and the stock transfercase with 4.10 gears on 37" Boggers and a big right foot. I love the setup and dont have any problems, I...
I think that mounting the battery there is ok, unless your going to run your rig hard. as you bounce around things flex, if its used for lite duty wheelin you should be just find. I think the box/tray looks great. keep up the good work.
I have been working on a dual battery tray kit that is...
I had the same issue with mine, what you need to do is remove the slave cyl and by hand pull the plunger out about 1/2 way while allowing the hose of the slave on the top. shile you pull it out fluid will flow into the syl having the air near the top. slowly push the rod and piston back into the...
I have them in my 40, I got them from TLC ICON, Im running 55w/100w. I wired them so the lower ambers will fully pulse insted of low to high. I still use the side markers on the side of the aprons, I used the clearance lamps from the top of a 2009 chevy Dualy. they are my running lamps
So something to think about, when it dies have you opened the fuel tank cap? it really sould like you might be drawing a volumn out and no air replacing it. Thats wht might happen about that mileage. so next tim your out and it happens just open the cap,see if it draws in a bunch of air, reset...
If your on the freeway much you should raise it up, if your in the rocks you will have a pinion clearance issur then the cut and turn will be the best option so you will do without shims. I did my own you can too
Well to be honest after my diff build I did a cut and turn on the birfs so I could get the pinion angle to where I needed, with it done my final caster is +5.0 degs left and +5.5 degs. on the right. This now allows me to run it at 90 mph and with great stability, the approach angle to rocks...
The early TBI belt drive was stamped steel and were prown to breakage on the drivers side low. the later years are two peice cast aluminum. Gm makes a a/c compressor idler pulley that goes in place of the compressor.
