I have a SOA, '76 FJ40, 5.3, 700r4, Orion Case and 35" tires, stock 4.11 diffs. also 4 wheel disk brakes. I had to pull my rear 3rd, leaky gasket, and am considering regearing to 4.88's to improve the highway rpms in overdrive. I like everything about the way it is set up, just can't hardly...
I will remove the part once they are sold. If you see it on the list, it is still avail.
I do have a few other parts sitting around. Let me know if you are looking for something, I might have it.

As can be seen in the pictures, the bed is from a diff. rig, is bobbed and is rusted. Might be a good one to pull off and put on a flat bed...

I am interested in a '94 80 that is currently listed on ebay. Anyone know anything about it? Would someone be interested in taking a look at it for me? I live several states away, or I would make the journey myself.
Here is the link...
I have been looking into different wiring harness options and stumbled on these gauges. They are either made or marketed by EZ wiring. Thought I'd find out if anyone has heard of them or better yet, used them.
How about the EZ wiring harness itself, any reviews?

So, after a year or so of working on her, I finally talked my wife into getting an 80. It will be her daily driver though I hope to inherit it in a few years:D I think she is finally getting into this, as she calls it, "cruiser thing" I have.
I must admit I don't know much about them so...
I want to flip the front springs on my 40 to gain a little extra wheelbase (back has '55 springs). I take it I will have to drill a new hole in the top leaf. Is this OK?
BTW, not doing a shackle reversal.
To those that have done the sbc conversion, what engine mounts did you use?
The new rig I bought utilizes the stock (toyota) motor mounts and a bracket to the front of the engine.
I am going with Saginaw power steering so this won't work for my application.
I have seen the advance adapters...
I need to know the dimensions of the a stock rear bumper for a '71 fj40. I need to fab a new one and want to use oem tail lights. Pictures would be a big plus.
I still haven't figured out what the po was trying to do the factory bumper. They hacked it all up. I guess a torch was easier than...
I have a '72 3spd t'case for sale I pulled today. I pulled it from a '72 fj55 I am parting out. I haven't run it, but it appears to be in good shape. I am in Oregon, just outside Portland. $250 + shipping.
Lots of other parts avail. Let me know what you need.
Email me with any questions.
Anyone ever install a wiring harness in their 40? If so, what brand or custom?
I have read about 3 diff. mfg's: painless, centech and ez wiring.
EZ wiring is less expensive then the others @ 165.
Any info. appreciated.
Steve
I found my new project rig, a '71 fj40. I'd like to get some pics of the dash and back end (tail lights, back up lights, etc.) of a fairly stock rig. A few of the knobs have been removed and don't work.
Thanks in advance,
Steve
I bought a dashbox from a guy in San Jose, CA (I think) about a year ago. I can't find any information on how to contact him. I want to order another one.
Thanks for any input.
Steve
I have been thinking of locker options and remember this thread from some time ago. Anyone here of any updates? I think this would be a very cool option. I filled out the form again to find out what the status is. Here is the link to the original thread...
Anyone have experience with tire deflators. The set I have, aluminum, were screwed together too tight and the threads fused together. This was a cheap set, under $10.00 and worked pretty good until now.
I've heard there are a few brands that allow you to preset what pressure you want to...
Ok, my goal is to get lower gearing in my 40. From what I've read, ~100:1, is near ideal for most wheeling. I'm still running a 2f, 4spd case and 4.11 axles.
The AA rock box, with my stock drivetrain, seems like the least expensive option and would get me to 98:1.
The Marlin toy box...
This is a great deal for someone thinking of doing a drive train swap.
New crate motor (5k miles), new radiator, headers and exhaust
th400 mated to np203... This is supposed to be very rare.
With this setup, you can use the gear reduction portion of the np203 and mate it to your stock...
