So trying to resolve the cutting engine problem when inclined, changed the diesel cranking pump and diesel filter to Toyota spare parts. Added a water separator with good flow before the filter (we get horrible diesel sometimes).
Unfortunately the problem is still there, I guess the vacuum in...
Finnaly got the Koso water temp gauge working.
First one i got seemed a cheap knockoff (got it from Germany) second one i got from china much better qaulity and properly sealed (Says made in Taiwan)
Just need to find a good spot for the guage im the dashboard and start figuring out temp ranges.
Yah this was a much milder version, first time was insane.
Lost 4H at a ridge (had to use bungee cord to keep it in 4H!)
Very intense as the car really behaves erratically and your in the edge.
Well o ring is shot, the valves are bent and the piston lining is warped.
How all this sand passed the filter is beyond me.
Will see if i can replace o ring, clean it and try again.
Desert off-roading trip with great friends (except for the XJ Jeep who to his own pleasure had to pull 2 Toyota's out, granted he broke down more than i can count :D :D )
Quite a hot day (32 Degrees celcius) had too cool off after some heavy loads on the trail.
I suspect with the hot weather...
Fitted the usb module to the aux battery, party LED time at camp sites!
Fixed back lights (again) 3rd time is the charm i hope.
Fitted the water temp cables and discovered i tore the cables from the device (really poor quality)
Finnaly changed console to normal colors blue is just too much.
Replaced steering damper and new front shocks. Back ones are still in shipping.
Changed rubber mounts (old ones where shot).
Cleaned & greased leaf springs.
So very busy weekend, managed to get a donner dashboard with a diesel RPM gauge and figured i can do IT!
4 hrs later i had broken both speed needles (MPH and KM one) fitted the diesel RPM gauge and couldn't get it to work (I guess the 12HT / 2H have different setup for wiring not compatible...
One day quick trip with my 9 year old son and a friend:
Friend: hey you must love Ferrari and Porshe? Best cars right?
Son: no way those cars cant go any where like the 60 series..
Friend: but its old and slow
Son: yah ever seen a Ferrari on dunes ? Landcruiser 60 is the best car ever ...
Very straight forward, remove the nuts holding the master cylinder.
Remove the 4 bolts from inside the car holding the servo, remove the connecting rod to the brake pedal.
Swap and re-attach. Much simpler than i had initially thought.
Thankfully they are exactly the same fitting sizes, however...
