Finally ended up with 17 wheels, since it is what Toyota officially approves of as a minimum in the 2005. Officially, but they don't say why...
Oh well, at least cheaper buying 17 tyres than 18s...
Chadiln,
Any photos of your LC? Are there a lot of Japanese spec LC in Thailand, since it is also RHD?
Any local LC clubs in bangkok - I will be there with friends in November. Website address of club?
Is there any problem with the ABS/ATRAC getting bad information if the factory 18" rims are changed to 17 or 16 on my 2005 LC?
Would the overall wheel radius be the same if I kept the same 275. 275/60/18 -> 275/60/16 ?
I hear ya, I've been looking for that kind of digital voltmeter setup for a long time, something that looks nice but not obtrusive like the big green LCD displays you can get on eBay. I'd even settle for a single small display with a toggle switch to go between the main and house, although a...
Do you use a voltmeter to determine when your 2nd battery charge has been adequate, and what volts do you look for usually?
I think I'm going to put a switch on the voltage sense wire to my Engel solenoid and do the same -makes sense not to overcharge when not using much.
Sounds great! I wanted to go big on the tires on my 100, but have been told it's difficult to get the ABS/ATRAC and related systems to work well with the big tire radius. Is this true?
Could you share your simple wiring setup? I'm wondering how you have your switches set up to have all those options easily at hand. (I'm setting up my duals now, and am trying to figure out te best option.)
I'm also concerned about continuously charging my 2nd battery, which I will only use...
Thanks, I found Romer's great table link. Costco here has the Yellow tops for cheap, so I'll go with that. I do have a 2000W inverter, so will go with the 1/0 and keep it close to the battery. Amazing posts on this forum about dual battery setups, so many choices....
I'm just putting in a second battery (Optima from costco - don't know if red, yellow or blue is best for running the Engel fridge/inverter for laptop & blender), and I'm wondering how you guys decided on which battery, and also is 1g wire needed for an inverter or is 2g OK?
How big an...
Been reading this thread with interest tonight, as I just got an Engel dual battery isolator off eBay for about $100 (THEN went looking for info on mud...). Looks like it simply connects the second battery + to the main battery + (which is connected to the alternator for charging of course)...
Have to agree with the above, with the added thought that if you get one large enough to act as a regular icebox, for <$100 it will make your bagged ice last for days and days longer than it would have otherwise. A coleman one made me happy for a long time in this way. I could go out for 5 days...
