Some of you can do it in your sleep, but I haven't done it before.
I received 8 iridium spark plugs from CDan yesterday and am going to replace them in my engine today. As far as I know, it is easy enough as
1. pulling out the cable that connects to the plug
2. Using a socket wrench to take...
So my driver's side low-beam bulb died today. Any suggestions on what to replace it with? Being as uneducated as I am about headlights, I will just say that I would like to replace the bulb(s) with something much brighter.
Ideas?
Yesterday, as I was driving, this smart guy merged into the highway. Instead of merging like most do, he went straight for the passing lane so that he could pass this vehicle on the right lane while picking up speed on his ancient dodge minivan. Both the vehicle on the right lane and I were...
Today, I started to change the oil on both diffs and the transfer case. I started with the transfer case, which went well. The old oil was looking really dark, but there was only a thin film of metal on the magnet in the drain plug. No problems on this one......
I started the rear differential...
To those of you who do a lot of work on your vehicles, this is a very silly question. To me, it is an unknown, so I am asking anyways....
How long before trying to unbolt a bolt do you want to use WD40 or alternate products? A few minutes, a day, a week?
I have WD40. Is there an alternate...
Today, I bought some Mobil1 ATF, a turkey baster, a few feet of plastic tube and went home with the idea of doing the power steering fluid exchange by sucking in and replacing as much fluid as I could.
I dripped the fluid into a clean sheet of paper and the thing looked like it was just poured...
I signed up for the tripsensor program with an insurance company. The story is that you hook it up to your vehicle's diagnostics port, it collects data on your start and end time along with your speed. It does not collect data on where you go.
When the time comes to renew your insurance, you...
My 100 came with Fender flares, which I do not like. Ever since I first test drove it the first time, I thought it was rattling too much. And I think I have found the culprit too. It is those stupid flares.
So Can I just unscrew and take off the stupid flares? Any downside to this?
Edit...
Lets see how common the transmission failure issue is for 98 - 2000 models. I have seen enough scattered posts about it to think that it warrants a thread of its own.
- What is the model year?
1. Has your transmission failed?
2. If so, after how many miles on it?
3. Before the...
A while back, I read in an article that Toyota did not use the now-popular technique of hydroforming in building the frame of the 100.
From a quick research, it seemed like if you want to create a vehicle frame (or a unibody structure) from lightweight material, you can use this process...
Does anyone know of a trustworthy mechanic in the Fargo-Moorhead area? I see a few (very few - since I bought mine, I have seen around ten in ~15 days) 100s here, but would love to get to know a good reliable mechanic that can work on a 100.
Suggestions would be appreciated.
After seeing a bit about 2000 transmission failures in this board, I saw some questions asked about the vibration in the l/h gear shifter. Mine constantly vibrates all the time. It is a 2000. I test drove a 2001 in which it constantly vibrated as well.
Is this how it is supposed to be?
