Has anyone experienced rattling with their Asfir plates? I have a noise (like the thunderous sound from shaking sheet metal) that I cannot figure out (nor can four other garages). I don’t think it’s the plates (nor do the four other garages), but I’m at the end of my wits.
Thanks.
I replaced all sway bar links and bushings. Tie rods seem fine.
Is there any part/component that would be affected by engaging height lift other than the piston?
I’ve been trying to diagnose an undercarriage rattle for a bit. I’v suspected it’s related to the AHC system for a while. I just discovered what I think is crucial information: the rattling stops when I put the AHC in high mode.
When in neutral, I hear a hollow rattling/clanking when I drive...
Thank you. I appreciate the help. What would the “inexperienced eye” look for? And while I’m outing my ignorance, where’s the center jack point (center of axle?)
I've been trying to figure out the source of a clack/clunk/rattle that is getting worse and occurs when I drive over rough road at low speeds. I've scoured Mud for leads and gotten some good feedback on one of my prior posts on this issue. I took it to a new garage to get a fresh perspective...
I'm down a rabbit hole trying to figure out the source of a clank/rattle. How significant was the thud you heard before you replaced the bushings? I thought my issue was with the control arm bushings, but they seem okay. The latest thought is an issue with the "shock absorbers." Indeed I can...
I’m inviting any and all wild speculation about the metallic rattle/clank that occurs when I drive over rutted roads or healthy potholes. Basically, if the bump is big enough, I’ll get the noise. And, unfortunately, the bump does not need to be too big.
I was confident that it was the sway bar...
@nvrfollow is the entire cabinet (i.e. not drawers) made from 18mm? I appreciate you sharing. You did an incredible job. Good luck on future production.
I’m trying to replace some random items that have rusted out, but I don’t know what they are and this don’t know how to find their replacements without taking it to a shop (which I’d rather avoid).
If anyone knows what either of the items pictured below are called, I’d appreciate the help so I...
Can anyone recommend some 2-3 day excursions through the panhandle for a trip in July? I'm not looking for anything overly technical (from fire roads to moderate is great). I plan to eventually end up at Glacier. Ideally, I'd like to patch together a route that lets me play around in the...

Does anyone have any insight into when Land Shark Outfitters may resume production of their Reef 2 system (or newer system; their site has a banner that says big news coming soon)? I'd like to purchase some drawers for a trip this summer but need to know if I have to look elsewhere, which would...
Steve: I ended up removing the two smaller bolts that hold the running board to that rear bracket. After that I could remove the running board (with the other brackets attached) because I had all the other bolts out. Then, I could spin the rear bracket a bit, which slightly loosened the bolt and...
I’d love suggestions on how to remove one last bolt that I cannot get a socket on. I removed the passenger side running board. And I removed all but one bolt on the driver side. The culprit is the upper bolt on the last bracket (see picture). I have AHC, which limits space to maneuver.
I...
I was about purchase Asfir skid plates for my 100 when my catalytic converters were stolen in the middle of the night while my truck was on the street in San Francisco (an unfortunate, but common occurrence in SF).
Does anyone know if the skid plate (second plate back from the front...
Don’t know exact engine temp (embarrassed to say I don’t know how I’d check that) but it was hot from three hours of driving AND it was 95 degrees outside.
