The plastic washers/bushing in my original hinges is toast and I have a lot of slop in my hinges. So I was either going to get some split washers or something to remove all the space. Is there a way to remove the hinge pin, add washers and re-install pin?

I'm about to rebuild my original carb in my 1980 and I've got a lot of rust going on around the base and along the block/manifold. Any ideas on what could cause this type of corrosion and how to avoid that in the future?
My air intake manifold rail had 3 out of the 5 fittings...
Thanks Matt! I don't have a vacuum pump -- but in theory, if I heat them to 190* by boiling water, I should be able to tell if they open up by simply blowing through one of the plastic vents.
Finally got everything to help restore and re-assemble my T-stat housing (thanks to completely seized bolts in my original housing...sending me on the hunt for this new used housing). Thanks Mark S.
