Has anyone done this to their hood hinges?

The plastic washers/bushing in my original hinges is toast and I have a lot of slop in my hinges. So I was either going to get some split washers or something to remove all the space. Is there a way to remove the hinge pin, add washers and re-install pin?

Has anyone done this to their hood hinges?

Good thing to consider...I've been taking mine off a lot lately but thats just because I'm restoring the actual hood and all the bits on the hood.

1980 FJ40 gas tank ID and recommendation

I'm doing this very same thing right now after something in my tank was prohibiting fuel to the carb (new fuel pump + rebuilt OG carb). I hooked a fuel line from the supply side of the fuel filter to a gas can and problem solved (fuel was now filling up the carb sight bowl). I drained my tank...

Rust around carb base and air intake manifold rail

Hi all, I'm about to rebuild my original carb in my 1980 and I've got a lot of rust going on around the base and along the block/manifold. Any ideas on what could cause this type of corrosion and how to avoid that in the future? My air intake manifold rail had 3 out of the 5 fittings...

Ideas on cleaning these BVSV thingama jiggers?!?

Thanks Matt! I don't have a vacuum pump -- but in theory, if I heat them to 190* by boiling water, I should be able to tell if they open up by simply blowing through one of the plastic vents.

Ideas on cleaning these BVSV thingama jiggers?!?

Finally got everything to help restore and re-assemble my T-stat housing (thanks to completely seized bolts in my original housing...sending me on the hunt for this new used housing). Thanks Mark S. I'd like to get all the grime off and clean up these BSVS's. Would it be kosher to let these sit...
