I have a 1997 LX450 and am having a problem with the heater. Recently it will not work very often. I have it turned on but it won't turn on (fan turning on) even though I have fan set on high and defrost on. I have tried all combinations of the button settings and it doesn't make any difference...
I found the wiring diagram in my FSM and it shows the connection but with no explanation. I assume this is a ground connection and will look for a connection point when I wrench on it this afternoon? Here is the wiring diagram with the connection I am looking for noted.
Ok. I did find the starter pictures in another post and it appears I have the correct starter connections but still not sure where this engine harness connections goes. Can someone post a link the the main engine harness connection diagram? I will continue to search through the forum post and if...
I am about finished with my 1FZ-FE rebuild and putting everything back together. However I am not sure where this one connection goes from the main engine harness. I have attached a picture. I think it connects to the starter but not sure and already have another connection to the starter (stud...
Sorry I don't have much more information on these. They were on my table of parts and I saw them there but don't remember taking them out. This was on a complete rebuild. Due to an extremely difficult pulley bolt which I ended up having the machine shop remove, I couldn't remove the timing cover...
I had the same problem on my 97 cruiser. I actually ended up doing an entire rebuild on the engine and I tried a 24" cheater bar with a 6 ft extention and still couldn't get it to budge. I finally gave up and took the engine block down to the machine shop where he had a 700 ft/lb impact wrench...
I am almost finished with my rebuild of the 1FZ-FE motor. I have been following the FSM but I seem to have missed some bolts and don't want to proceed any further until I get this figured out.
Here is a picture of the bolts....Allen head but I don't know where they go. I fear I will be tearing...
Question. I am in the process of a 1FZ-FE rebuild and dropped my block and head off at the machinist. He did hot tank the block and now said I need a bushing for the front of the block. Would this be the 1FZ-FE Oil Pump Bushing indicated above? Machinist thought it should be about 1" in...
Thanks foxfab but I think I will stay with the 95-97 versions for ECU compatibility. Looks more like I will be tearing into the engine this weekend and dropping off at the machine shop on Monday as having difficulty tracking down a drop in at a descent price.
I am looking for a solid 1FZ-FE engine for the 1997 LX450. Preferably with low to medium miles at a fair price. I live in Idaho and am willing to have it shipped or go pick it up if need be. If I can't find something then I will go ahead with the rebuild.
I am working on pulling my 1FZ-FE tonight and am getting pretty close. I have a question though. The FSM says to pull the tranny with the engine. I don't mind doing it but is it really necessary? What is recommended? I blew a head gasket a couple of weeks ago (separate post about exploding...
Update.
So I have been debating whether to touch the bottom end of the engine and so I tried the following experiment. With the head removed I filled each cylinder with about a 1/4 inch of oil and let it sit for a couple of days to see if there was any gross leakage past the rings. The...
:( Bummer.....I guess it is a Monday today!!! Given what the pictures show should I pursue a rebuild on this engine or does it make more sense to buy a good used engine. Any good sources for a used engine? I did find one online for $1800 delivered (is that fair). What would be a resonable cost...
And I forgot to respond to the deposit at top of cylinder. It is hard and firmly attached to the cylinder wall....most likely metal from the cylinder wall due to piston rubbing due to overheating?
