Sorry - for the delay - been busy and haven't checked in for a while. Interesting to re-read this thread and now it's been so long that the details are going to be fuzzy. I did get my leak to stop so I guess I was successful. You'll see that I was very nervous about forcing the cover off and...
Pretty sure Rear AC/Heat started in 98. I'm not sure if "ALL" 98's and up have this or if it is optional.
If it has the option - then heat is part of it - i.e., you will have AC or heat in the rear.
I've been chasing this one around also - FYI - the info in the door jam doesn't (at least for mine) have the "cladding" color code - it only has the main paint code and then the interior code. I have a 99 LC and I think through visiting a few links from various places - that I have the 1B1...
Yes - I agree it would be nice to upgrade the entire filtering system. I tried searching posts regarding the "filter wool" and there are a few pictures - but difficutl to figure out where they are and what exactly the access is for them. Does anyone know where all of the intake ports are...
Just an update - I was able to get the front cover off of the evaporator "box" with just a little force. Trying to be real careful not to crackor brake anything. I've identified where my drip leak is coming from however. On the DS of the evap box, about midway up the side, there is a wire...
I agree with Spresso's last post.....As I said earlier, I don't think mine was all that dirty, so I truly can't attest to cooler temps per se, but it is an easy job for sure and hopefully good PM.
I too have done this but now I am chasing another issue. Right now, I'm getting drips of water...
Seriously?? - a 4Runner vs. LC thread??
This is probably the LAST "vs." thread I could have ever imagined.... If there weren't 33 posts already, I would have thought this was some sort of typo
80 vs. 100? OK, interesting and lots to discuss.
100 vs. 200? well, we're just getting started...
what are the bolt size (mostly the pitch) that hold on the plastic "skid plate"
8mm x 1.0
or 8mm x 1.25
??
Just want to replace a few missing ones
sorry so lame but can't seem to find this referenced anywhere by searching.
I'm trying to prepare for a fight with State Farm on replacing my windshield on my 99 LC. I've read all the posts on how this is not a run-of -the-mill windshield replacement.
So - I've identified a local glass company here in town (San Antonio) and have spoken with the owner and I'm...
Just did this over the weekend. Some modifications that others may be interested in.....
1. Removed (and cleaned) the air filters prior to the cleaning with Frigiclean
2. I put the schrader valve in the door for the air filters. near the top that way I didnt have to worry about hitting...
There is also a write-up in the FAQ section on how to modify the spare tire area / bracket so you can raise up the spare and tuck in up into the body a little more.
Hey - thought of another question - so I don't have to go to Autozone to reset CEL (after new O2 sensor installed) - is it true I can just disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset CEL?
Just threw the Bank 2 sensor 1 code this morning and about to call C-Dan. What are the thoughts on should I just replace the bad one or both "upstream" sensors.
Any advice appreciated
I'm interested. any idea on shipping to 72687 (northwest Arkansas)? I'll be there visiting week after 4th of July.
Also - these are factory chromes right?
any pics?
99 LC 120K. Very hot already here in S Texas and have searched - but surprised that there isn't much on recharging the AC. It works now, and is cold - but I think it could/should be colder. I've looked in the sight glass and can see periodic bubbles with both the main and rear AC's on. 1st...
Clutch pedal feels different today - only seems to be something I can feel through the pedal - can't tell any difference in "take-offs" etc. The pedal feels "sticky" or "grabby" mostly when letting it out.
Its REALLY rainy today and I don't have a bell housing cover ( I know, I know - but...
I've still got problems - at idle and lurching under power - although just replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, PCV, grommet, fuel filter, air filter, and most of vacuum lines (FYI ordered everything from CDan and 8 bags of the short ones and 2 long ones just isn't quite enough to to...
