I had the exact same problem. The right turn signal wire in my harness pigtail was dead and I had to run a wire across to the right hand light to make it work. Assumed mine had been damaged, but maybe it's something more common?
The spill valve replacement was a pretty simple affair when I did it, but the part itself wasn’t cheap. I cut down a fan wrench and bent it a few degrees, and was able to pull the FSV after removing the airbox. You can measure the height of the threads on the screw of the old FSV and adjust the...
Awning mounted… Getting the rig ready for warm weather. Actually here in NC it’s pretty darn warm already, but I’m going by the calendar, not the thermometer. My patient and loving wife got me an awning for Christmas - I wanted a freestanding 270 that wouldn’t break the bank and was reasonably...
Making some progress over here. Finally found time this weekend to knock down the Front Runner platform install. We had wanted to do the Gamiviti setup, and while I’m sure it’s worth the money in the long run, it’s just so darn expensive. Most of the other off the shelf options are for the LWB...
Here’s a thread from Prado Point about diagnostics on the immobilizer…. Fault Scanner for 1998 5VZ-FE - Toyota Prado How To's, Technical Information & Reviews -...
My 90 doesn't have an immobilizer, so my experience is somewhat limited here. There are a few threads over at PradoPoint about the immobilizer - sounds like there are a few components that can go bad, including the RF ring. Is it possible that something isn't connected properly?
FWIW, when I had ecu issues, my truck was also not getting fuel at the injectors. I also chased fuel spill valve but it was ecu the whole time. I would assume you have somehow not resolved the immobilizer issue yet, rather than assume a new part has mysteriously gone bad simultaneously.
I’ll join the fun… we took my ‘18 out at Windrock Park last fall. Had planned to take my 90 Series, but we were stuck waiting for parts and took the bone-stock GX instead. We were really impressed with what the GX could do on street tires and stock suspension.
I’ve got a shorty diesel auto with a 2.5” lift and 31” tires, plus some extra weight (drawers, winch, bumper). I get high teens around town and can get around 20 if I keep the speed reasonable on the highway. Average across a tank of diesel is usually about 19 mpg.
Daily driving the 1KZTE is fine. We have an 80mph (signed at 70) that my 90 does fine on. There’s one hill where it drops to ~75mph but that’s it, and EGTs are within boundaries the whole time. It’s not a speed demon, but I don’t fret about merging on the highway.
One question - does the 78 run...
The other shortcut I've used on rear rotors - they're the same as the 80 series LC. In all things, EPC is your friend, Amayama also has good cross-reference for other Toyota models.

Great feedback… never would have thought of this approach without you guys!
Won’t get it installed till right at the end of the year, but I found a Frontrunner platform locally that a guy had taken off his camper shell - so it came with six legs for tracks. Ordered a set of 60” Thule tracks...
