When you are installing an sm420 on a F engine, do you have to take out the flywheel and bellhousing, or can you just keep it in there?
Thanks,

so what measurements do I need length wise? I'm guessing the drop required is so it clears everything as it swings. But let me know if I'm wrong.
Thanks.

I was given a saginaw box out of a hummer (H1 I think) the box looks just like the ones I've seen before but it didn't come with a pitman arm. Can I go and get a pitman arm out of any gm car and use it with this box? and do you guys recommend any in particular.
I will try to post pics tonight...
So I have been reading pretty much all of the GM Saginaw conversions ( which is the one I have chosen to do) and I still haven't found much info about mounting the PS pump. A few people say to relocate the alternator to the other side, but they don't say what needs to be done. also, that you...
I put ford merkur seats, they are heated but not powered. But with a little creativity and some welding you can put any seat you want in there. I built a seat craddle for mine.

I've been wanting a soft top for a while. I was thinking about trading, or selling, my hard top so I could get one. Is it worth it, or should I just stick with the hard top (I want to take some weight of the truck). My only concern is driving in the winter... I do live in Utah.
Thanks for any...
I sent you an email. let me know. I am in the need for a sm420 bad!

Edit: Actually, I might just take everything you have for the 420 mod (other than the bellhousing).
I have the covers for the oval ones (they came out of a 73' 40) I was going to put them on ebay but if you want them we can work something out. I'll post a picture when I get home tonight.
They are in really good shape, I just busted the base when I was taking them appart.

P.S. send...
I'm doing a Spring Over on the 40 right now and will be running 35's. I wonder what is the easier one to do (and cheapest of course). Scout or Saginaw. I was thinking on the mini truck but I don't think it will be powerful enough for a 4500 lb. truck with 35's and full rollcage.
Thanks for any...
I've ran the 5000's for the last year and I've like them a lot. I'm doing an SOA so I will have to go with longer one. thinking of the 9000's but I think they are a little overpriced.

the tires I will be getting are all terrains bfg's 35" 12.5 R15. I know... I know... why all terrain. It will be my daily driver and I will go off- road once or twice a month. :D
I do have a 10" rim but probably won't go smaller than that.

I'm getting new tires and one of my neighbors has a set of 12" rims that he wants to get rid of. Just wondering if there was any problems with going wider. I do like the idea of a wider wheel base.
Thanks for any advice.
