Porter cable has a 2 stage 15cfm @90. My local farm and fleet sells it for $800. No clue if it's any good.
IR has the SS5L5 single stage 18 cfm @90. You can get these for around 850-900.
IR SS3l3 is around 10 CFM and runs abour $600 I think.
I've read good/bad about Lowes units. Seems like...
You made the statement "who wants to pay $50k for a truck". Implying in my mind that you are saying this is what people are paying for a Tundra. Apparently I misunderstood.
There are guys getting limiteds for under 40K - a little under invoice, plus a 2500-3500 rebate (or whatever it is...
I picked up a 08 DC "grade" 4x4 5.7 for a couple hundred under invoice a month ago. Came out to something like 24,8K b4 TTL with the tow/cold pkg after the rebate. Nice truck, about the only thing I miss vs. the SR5 is the telescopic steering column.
I'm not sure where beaufort is getting 50K...
Here is a combined list of combined import numbers, which doesn't help much: TLC FAQ - 6.1 Selected Country Engine/Chassis Sales Figures (Model Year)
83 was the last year of the 40 in the US and I believe is the rarest. I thought I read something like 400 or so were imported. I could be wrong.
You need a bellhousing adapter (or new bellhousing) and some other stuff to mate the engine to the stock transmission, or to mate a ford/chevy trans to the tcase. If you're swapping in a new motor, I would assume you're going to ditch the 3 speed. If you want non toy trans, you need a tcase...
Your decision should also be influenced by what transmission you want to use. Check out the adapters available:
Toyota 10 Spline Transfer Case-Advance Adapters Inc.
if you switch to a 4 sp case:
Toyota 16 Spline Transfer Case-Advance Adapters Inc.
Get the LC conversion manual from them.
Nothing...
Don't look at horsepower. You want to look at the delivered CFM at your tools required psi. You want to get one that has more then enough CFM to run whatever you are expecting to run.
This might be listed as SCFM or ACFM (not displacement CFM). Cheap compressors usually list displacement...
FYI, the box I got was a Snap-On KIQ series 54". Pretty nice box. If anyone has an idea what these list for, I'd be curious to know. Thanks.
Strangely, the two bottom drawers do not lock. The catch on the drawers are lower then the locking mechanism. Not a big deal for me but I thought it was...
I've never seen the EZ harness. Assuming they use the same quality wire (guessing so) I would buy it over the Painless. The Painless harness is nice, but nothing special, just a bunch of wires and a fuse block. The reasons I did Painless (about 10 years ago) was I got a decent price from a guy...
I agree with Pin Head, I would stick with the OEM harness unless it's in really sad shape. Unless you have fire damage or something along those lines, I bet most of it is still pretty good. If you can replace existing sections of wire, it'll be a lot easier. I did a painless harness about...
