If the splines let go, or one of the tripots shattered, I could see that. I don’t think they really showed a picture of the CV’s after the break though.

Hey folks, can I get your opinion on my 80 for sale? I suspect it's a little on the high side, but I don't think it's too far off the mark?

Hey Jason, sorry I missed this message.
I didn't see your PM.
I believe there is rust on the leading edge of the hood. I've never taken the black wrap off, but I assume that's why it was there.
Thanks

This Cruiser has been enthusiast owned for most of it’s life and it shows! Dispute its rough edges, I’ve driven to the northern tip of the Keweenaw and down to...
The 4L80e has a 0.75 overdrive ratio which isn’t ideal for that setup. Here’s what the calculator kicks out for your configuration.
The 4L60e has a higher overdrive at 0.70 which drops the RPM to a better point.
A 6L80e drops is even further:

Great info! I suspect that's where the disconnect is.
Perfect, thank you!
Both trucks are part time.
Both trucks are lifted about the same amount. It does do great donuts though!
Thanks!

Hey folks.
I currently have two 80-Series that I drive regularly. They have very different turning radiuses. I initialy thought it was due to wheel offsets, however I swapped wheels around and the radius is still noticeably different.
Is there some sort of adjustment, or year-by-year change...
I bought a set of CVJ's for my 4th gen 4Runner. All 4 boots split in under 30k miles.
I replaced them with a pair of Napa CV's, and both of those have failed (Not the boots, the actual joints).
I will be rebuilding the CVJ's with factory boots, when I get around to it.

I was in the process of LS-swapping my 80-series and ended up buying an already converted one. It really is about a perfect combo.
I also have a 2UZ in a built 4th gen 4Runner, and IMHO the LS is a better engine platform for these rigs. The 2UZ is a bit underpowered once you start packing on...
I may need to hit you up as well. I just picked up an 80 that has a solid inch of dirt covering everything in the underbody. I hope to get it cleaned up and undercoated before the salt hits.
