About a year ago I had a torn CV boot problem. Every place I called recommended that I just get a replacement remanufactured assembly... and since they were replacing one side, that I should replace the other side as well even if it was intact. That way, wear and tear would be even.
Duke over...
I've heard good things about Land Cruiser NW www.landcruisernw.com near the Montgomery Park building.
Their website seems to focus more on FJ Cruisers nowadays, but they have been around long before the FJ debuted.
Hello everyone.
I'm unsure whether this piece of equipment is indeed called a "door jamb switch," but its function is to indicate whether the door is ajar. When the door is fully closed, the switch is fully depressed.
It's easy to locate on any of the passenger doors. My question is: where...
Adjustable height and ride stiffness are nice to have, but if you are using it (as you wrote in your first post) mostly off-road and in some snow/ice, you're probably better off getting a Cruiser and lightly modifying it for your purposes.
C'mon guys. The manual override switch for the power antenna is to test for maximum headroom when driving in parking garages and under fallen trees. If the fully extended aerial touches the beam or the branch, then you'd better find another way. :flipoff2:
More observations
Key position: I stand corrected: the sound is NOT there when the key is in the OFF/LOCK position. It's only when it's in the ACC position.
Recirc/Fresh Setting: No difference. It the sound will be heard in any (Recirc/Auto/Fresh) setting.
Sorry I didn't check for replies earlier today. I do have a *bit* more information, though:
Key position: The key can be either in the ACC position or the OFF/LOCK position (ready to pull out) and the whirring noise WILL be there.
Use of A/C: If the A/C compressor was off while driving to...
Tried searching on "recirculate" and "blower" and "shutoff" among other key words, but couldn't find any good matches. Please redirect me if I missed the relevant posts.
So, I've noticed that there's a whirring sound coming from under the glove box after I shut my engine off (but leave the key...
I had a rattle that would also come out when the passenger's front door was slammed hard enough.
Turned out to be the bracket holding the auxillary fan in place. It's in front center (right behind the grill which, on an LX, lifts up along with the hood so it was easy to get to) and it was a...
I'm with 1LoudLX on this one. Internal combustion engines are air pumps. Increase the throughput and you increase the performance.
I would go so far as to opine that the need for backpressure is a myth.
There's a reason why race cars have little to no restrictors in the exhaust system.
In that case, lots of people also swear by the top-of-line Passport radar, either wired or battery-powered are good. That's my suggestion as far as brand is concerned.
The whole radar industry (and legality thereof) is a big fat grey area. Some states in the US ban it outright... you get a...
C'mon Semlin. Live on the edge. Learn to read the signs to watch out for speed traps. If other cars brake for no reason, then slow down. If you are being flashed by motorists traveling the opposite direction, be wary- they may be helping you out. Think like a cop: what's a good hiding place to...
Please let us know how it went!
Unless you're incredibly unlucky, the fuses seem to have done their job (i.e., pop when something's not right). I did it once too, in the old 4Runner. Don't feel too bad. Many have done worse.
Is the clutch-starter lockout also still a US-only safety feature? This is how, in a conventional tranny, you can only start the engine if you're stepping on the clutch pedal. It prevents starting a car while in gear, and making it jerk forward.
Dealerships, leather, and MSRP aside, I think an important difference between these two trucks is that it's easier to outfit a Cruiser with an ARB front. If I had gotten a Cruiser and not the LX that I currently own, I would have almost immediately installed an ARB bumper. No need to fret about...
Some fairly recent posts confirm that '07 Tundra wheels are 5-lug by 150, same size as hundy Cruisers and LX470s. No backspacing problems reported thus far.
So, anything that comes out for (or off of) new Tundras will fit our rigs.
Hot daymn!... the "search" function really works on this board!
Thanks Darkstar and Drinkin40s. This is exactly what happens (more and more frequently, it seems) to my 2001 non-nav Levinson stereo. Was gonna start a new thread with the title "Levinson Goes Crazy" but found this one.
I hope...
