    Time to replace the radiator

No worries at all. I want to go oem, which is why I asked specifically about oem replacements.

    Time to replace the radiator

Any recommendations for best place to get a new oem radiator for my 97 LC? Looks like I can get one from Olathe Toyota for $385. Any better options? What else should I take care of while I'm replacing that?

    Alternator light coming on intermittently

In my 97 LC, recently, I noticed the alternator light had come on, periodically, but eventually seemed to go away and volt output gauge, when the light was on, was showing under half output and then when the light went out, it jumped to above half output. The car has been working fine, but...

SOLD  Original unused 97 LC spare tire - anyone want?

Thought I had a flat the other day and realized I had no idea if I had a viable spare or not. Bought the car in 2021 and never checked the condition. So, last week, I took a look and appears to be the original spare, with a date code in late 1996. So going in today to have a new tire mounted...

    Door panel speaker question

When I go back in and rewire, I'll take some photos. The speaker that I used had some tabs for installation, I think to provide more options for where to insert screws. But the existing size of the speaker was already pretty perfect, so I just used my dremel tool to cut off those tabs around...

    Door panel speaker question

Thanks! I hadn't even considered that. It is an aftermarket head unit, so running a new wire makes a lot of sense. Appreciate the suggestion.

    Door panel speaker question

Well just spent an hour taking it all apart again and rooting around and I've come to the conclusion that the old speaker wasn't working and putting in a new one didn't change anything. The wiring that goes through the door into the footrest of the driver side, if you move it around, the...

    Seatbelt refurbish - Safety Restore

Yes, the one on the left in my picture is the restored one. One on the right is oem. The restored one is slightly lighter in color than oem. If I was doing the front seats, I'd probably just do both.

    Seatbelt refurbish - Safety Restore

I used Seat Belt Restore for a frayed belt in the 3rd row. Was $93 including shipping. Thought they did a fantastic job.

    Door panel speaker question

BTW, I used this video, which was great and made it super easy for removing the door panels. And the video recommended this tool, which was invaluable and super cheap. Panel Clip Pliers - https://www.harborfreight.com/panel-clip-pliers-63699.html

    Door panel speaker question

Yesterday, I took off the drivers side door panel to replace the window/door locks switch. I got one from Amazon that seemed to have really good reviews for only $25 (see link below), which is kind of crazy, so figured it couldn't hurt to give it a try. The reason was that the passenger front...

    Subwoofer replacement

I have a pretty solid system in my other car, but it's got a big amp and a big enclosed sub, so by comparison, an oem system from a 1997 Toyota is never going to crush. If you're looking for a lot of bass, this isn't going to do it. But it does add a little bass, which is about the best I...

    Underside corrosion management/prevention

I'm gonna do the work myself. I enjoy it. Any recommendation for a high quality chassis paint, after the rust converter cures?

    Underside corrosion management/prevention

Bought my 97 LC back in August of 2021. The paint and the interior were in great original shape, but I posted some pictures here back then of the underside. The visible rust was concerning to me, but most people here just said hit it with fluid film and enjoy. So, last Summer, when it was...

    Subwoofer replacement

Not trying to create a high end sound system in my 97 LC, but figured I ought to have a working sub woofer. Pulled out the old one, popped into a local stereo shop and they happened to have almost the exact size I needed in a box where they'd already sold one, so sold me the other one for $25...

P0402 Code - removing the throttle body

Great, thanks so much! Not planning to remove the intake manifold. If I can't get the result I want with the TB off, I'll probably punt to the local shop. I just don't have that much time. I'm not overly concerned since the car is running so well. But figure it's worth a shot.

P0402 Code - removing the throttle body

I've been getting the P0402 code frequently lately with this cold weather. Rig is running great, so not concerned about it at all. Never comes on when the car is warm. I think I'm going to take off the throttle body and try and clean out the fitting that I saw on this thread that gets clogged...
