I am dealing with my insurance company, Allstate. Other vehicle lost control switching lanes suddenly and passed in front of me when I hit them. They were issued a ticket. This information about how salvage works is good to have. My local agent, old friend of mine, says to be careful about it...
Not sure where to post this, but I was involved in a wreck today, and the insurance company is saying based on the damaged headlight and tail light, that the vehicle is not repairable. I cannot talk to the adjuster until tomorrow, too late in the day, but I am trying to understand what my...
Looking for must-see suggestions.
We are picking up our '85 60 South Central Kansas and driving back to Jacksonville, FL. It will be my wife, 2 dogs and me. We were supposed to stop and see my Mom in Oklahoma, but she is ill with something catchy. Now we're trying to figure out what to see in...
Well, I got the o-rings changed out, and the new compressor and drier installed. Also changed out the schrader valves.
I need help with the manifold setup.
Edit: I have found other threads on converting to R134 that discuss the correct hi and low quick connect adapters.
I bought the manifold...
I had done the sdtrucksprings front and rear. I didn't like the results of either. So, I did the dobinson's: Dobinsons Leaf Spring Pair (HJ61-7L-R LH + HJ61-7L-R RH), Dobinsons Leaf Spring Pair (HJ61-7L-F). These are too high to be considered stock. I ended up removing a leaf from the front...
Mine was already converted, but I have no idea how long ago, nor to what extent. One of the most obvious leaks is at the receiver/drier and I suspect it is still the R12 original because of the perfect fit. I already received new o-rings, and looking at that PDF I am now concerned what the...
I did, but I do not have the experience to say whether it would work long term or not. I did notice that with the flip kits installed and little to no air in the bags (to avoid stinkbug) there is hardly any room between the springs and the frame for the bags. Not sure how much better that would...

https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/ac-compressors-fj62-fj60-10p15c-6p148a-rebuild-info.1201814/
the compressor for the FJ60 is identified. I did a search for "6P148A rebuild kit" and it appears the same compressor was used on Fox body mustangs (may have differences in mounting...
I tried to get a truck spring company in Jacksonville, FL to re-arch my springs. The specialist told me the springs we're too old and wouldn't hold it. I ended up doing the air bags and am happy that I can adjust ride and height as needed when load changes. I did replace the springs too which...
I recharged with dye this time. Every serviceable connection is leaking and the compressor is too, darn it. I am buying a rebuilt compressor from JT Outfitters. How hard is it to rebuild these compressors?
Yeah, it's a very fast leak. Was almost completely gone by the time I drove it again. I am going to replace all the o-rings and the drier. I am guessing at this point it has to be evacuated before recharging. I am trying to decide if I get something like the harbor freight vacuum pump (air...
Is there any point in using the recharge refrigerant that has the stop leak additive?
Is 8-10 months too fast compared to other user's experience? Maybe I need to have an A/C guy find and repair the leak?
My A/C was converted to R134 early 2022. By November (maybe 8-10 months later), the...
I finally replaced the water pump.
Did it without removing the radiator, that wasn't too bad. I did have to remove the batteries (one on each side) to get the shroud off. This time I drained coolant via the cock in the block, which also worked pretty well.
No noise anymore when the engine is...
When I had the pump out, I checked for sideways wiggle, but not in/out. Didn't read about that until after I had reinstalled it. At the fan, there is no discernable play.
