1978 FJ40 2F motor: Repair manual directs for clutch plate disassembly, that the rivets be drilled out. The manual specifies 13/64 inch drill. On the pressure plate of my FJ40, 13/64 isn’t nearly enough to drill out the rivets. I ended up with 5/16 inch hole for a clean tap out. Any ideas...
Now, the time has come to order parts for a new clutch system:
1978 FJ40, new-rebuilt 2F engine, stock gearbox. I am planning on the following upgrades to Bumpi:
1. Holly Sniper TBI
2. Holly CD ignition
3. Some sort of headers (TBD)
4. Driving profile will be urban commute, and occasional...
1. Thanks for the input.
2. As you see here, two experienced folks have commented on “assembly in the correct orientation and correct order”. That is a threat briefing.
3. Ok I’ll bite…how do you know?
Ready to put the new clutch into Bumpi’s new motor. I removed the old flywheel, cleaned it up. Now. What should I do before mating everything together? Specifically…
1. Balance? (If so shouldn’t it be balanced when the whole rotating mass is assembled??)
2. Resurface at a machine shop...
Hi!
1. Thank you for your interest 😀!
2. I intend to buy one of the tanks that Man A Fre offers.
3. I plan to install AN type fuel hoses that will support a Sniper TBI system.
Cheers!

I am at the point to install the supplemental rear fuel tank on Bumpi. Any one with experience have any words of wisdom about;
1. Installing the tank.
2. Configuring the tank to supply a TBI system.
Cheers!

About to pull the trigger on having the chassis of my 78 FJ-40 powder coated.

Cheers!
