Hello,
Yesterday I installed my Supertop, and noticed that there are elastic bands on the bows.
There are some bands to hold the rolled-up sides, they connect with snaps,
but what is the function of those others? They have a little plastic plate at the end.
BTW the supertop is super! (IMHO)
Had this posted in the "cruiser tech" section as well, but someone said to post it here:

3 moths ago, I had my valves adjusted (a big improvement concerning noise) on my 1979 BJ40 with stock B-eninge.
But now, 2000km's later, it makes as much noise as it used to, maybe slightly worse.
At slow speed (like 50km/h in 4th) it feels like it shackes a bit, but at higher rpm, it rides...
Did you try to tighten the bolts in there (are there any?, I know in mine there are)
if not, only sollution (IMHO) is to fold the arms tottaly forward and adjust the mirrors so you can see. The (wind)forces on the mirror will cause a minimum turn-effect.
(I hope I made myself clear, 'cause...
@cruiserwanted
it's obvious that there must be some resistance in between the bulb and ground, why not bypass that resistance with a wire? It should work
Does anyone know of a site where the dimensions of the bows can be found?
I'm searching for an original soft top, but here in Belgium they are hard (read impossible) to find. So I'd like to make my own. The bows should be no problem, the only thing I'm worried about are the 2 pieces that come...
Re:heater in fj40 nonfunctioal
Open the hood an find the valve that controls the flow of hot water (should be on the firewall) Check if hot water can pass through easy (feel the temp on both sides) That was where my problem was...
I threw out my EDIC as wel. Just bent a small bar, so it would fit, and that comes out under my dash. I stop the engine, by pushing it. Always reliable
first of all, clean the electrical contacts of the sensor and the plug. Mine were rusted but with a little sand-paper and some contact-spray, I got it to work again. The temp.sensor is a NTC (negative temp. coëfficient) so, the higher te temperature, the lower the resistance and the higher the...
I had the same problem, couldn't download it, but I contacted Steve rosco (you can find his coördinates at birfield.com) and he was kind enough to lend me acces to his FTP. I downloaded them there.
