    AHC just get rid

The amount of posts here about AHC failure has led me to believe that this is an expensive component that is not necessary and can be easily sidelined. Note I work my cruisers in rough environments and the simpler the better

Sidebar to bull bar pipe clamp

Dunno how best to describe it but it is a two-piece clamp that joins a sidebar to a bull bar instead of a weld? Has it got a name and where to find these parts?

    350 Chev

Has anyone put a 350 Chev in their cruiser? I have the opportunity to buy a nearly new one for $2000 and could source a manual transmission to suit.

    Chopping and changing

A mechanic mate of mine told me about a V8 auto 100 series that had been rolled and he had just serviced the car and ensured me the drive train was like new so I bought it and chopped it giving it a very spacious single cab Also, cut the chassis back a bit so it does not get caught up on the...

    Keeping it stock

I have owned a number of IHZ 80 series both manual and auto over the years and have put them through their paces in rugged Africa. All of them were purchased with a couple hundred thousand kilometers on the clock. Inevitably we would dismantle the doors, air-con, stabilizers and occasionally...

Quick question about the capability of 80 series main wheel bearings. Don't suppose they are the same as the new 79?

    Seriously chopped

This is my anti-poaching car. Second-hand Land Cruisers are cheap here and easily modified for bush work. The 1HZ tends to need overhauling after 400,000 km but is not expensive if you do it yourself. The only work this stock car needed was a change of suspension every year and regular service...

    Single cab

Some years back I made myself a single cab by gas welding the back to the front. Eventually, I broke this car for spares parts. Only mod was plating the chassis at the steering box otherwise all stock. Manual with 1HZ motor and the Odometer crapped out at 450,000km! It was an awesome car and...

Replacing 1HD T with 1HZ on an 80 series VX auto.

Hi All, I am new so my first post. I am looking to purchase an 80 VX automatic with a worn 1HD T engine and want to swap it out with an IHZ. The IHZ engine was previously bolted onto a manual box. So my question is will the auto simply bolt onto the 1HZ engine?
