I am looking for an air cleaner assembly for my late 69 FJ40. I have an air cleaner that I believe is for a 1 barrel aisin that came with my truck if anyone would be interested in that as well.
Hello again!
I am looking for a hardtop in decent shape or soft top bows. I figured I would post here before springing for something from an outfitter. I have a 1964 FJ40 that has some aftermarket bows on it for now, but they don't seem to provide enough clearance for my doors, so I am looking...
I will probably take it over sometime soon and have them give me a quote on it. I am still debating between that or doing what mark brought up and buying one for a 1969 FJ40 since they seem to be around the same price. Thanks!
I wouldn't mind altering a newer tank to fit if it's not too bad. I tried to look for a post on the forum here for that but was not able to find anything.
Ok, maybe I will give it another shot then! I have a thread here with what I did exactly and debating whether to have a shop do it or just buy another.

Yeah I tried to fix mine up, the coating was coming off on it so I tried to recoat it myself, but it didn't take, unfortunately, and a lot of new surface rust formed after the process.
Hello everyone!
I am looking to replace the gas tank on my 1964 FJ40, getting a new one of the same style is preferable, but if other years fit that would be ok too!
Best,
Andrew
That’s good to know! Thanks! I’ll look through Toyota then as well. I’ve only put ~100 into this tank for all the treatments and sealer I’ve bought, I was trying to save some money. I am curious about the differences between the different year gas tanks, I haven’t seen anything on the forums...
Here are some photos of the aftermath of the tank, so far I am leaning towards getting a new one. I was hoping the other tank had a sending unit in it or something, but all it had was stale gas.
Hello again everyone!
After struggling with fuel issues for a while and finding a bunch of junk in my fuel lines and filter, I decided to finally pull my gas tank. The previous owner said that they had the tank boiled out back in 2020 and there was a tag on the tank from the place that did it...
Yep, thanks again! I should have changed the tag to sold when I got them, sorry! I just got all the hardware to get them on sorted so I'm hoping to put them on sometime this week. I will definitely make a build thread soon!
