It had nothing to do with the belt size. The warning sign was the audible sound of a failing bearing when the engine was running. I only noticed the sound when the windows were open, so I think I caught it early before it got much worse.
The pulley is smaller, but it worked just fine for me with the OEM belt.
Just a heads up though, one of the bearings ended up failing for me after about 9 months. I ended up putting the original alternator back in to get a warranty replacement. Hopefully, the second one does better when I put...
No, I just replaced mine. I thought about opening up the box to see if it could be repaired, but it didn't seem like you could do that without some level of destruction to the box itself. I didn't want to take a chance with a temporary fix that might leave me stranded. I have enough things in my...
I'm accustomed to seeing pretty polished 100 series cruisers around town, so it was nice to bump into another LX at Desert Ridge that's had a little more time on dirt. Does anyone know who the owner is? Mine is posted below.
I don't have any other photos at this time, but I put all of those rods in there this morning and have been driving around with them just fine all day. All of those rods are safe with the hatch closed, and they're your typical 6'6" to 7' medium power rods. I have some bigger saltwater rods with...
I replaced my brake hoses with Slee stainless lines and I flushed the brake fluid. I replace the springs with Kings and I installed Ironman 30mm spacers to keep my AHC pressures in check for an AHC lift. I installed Trail Tailor extended sway bar links. I also changed my oil and shipped a sample...
The OEM globes don't have a pressure port to check the nitrogen pressure, and I haven't seen any aftermarket ones that do either. This would be a great feature to have in order to troubleshoot the individual globes rather than just depending on the graduations on the reservoir which only gives a...
Does it have the original brake hoses? I had my son pumping the pedal while I was bleeding the brakes, and the swelling on the old brake hoses was pretty incredible. I replaced my old rubber brake hoses this past week with Slee stainless lines, and the new hoses definitely firmed up the pedal...
I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet, but when rebuilding a pair of axles, could there be a benefit to switching the sides that they're installed on?
The reason I pose this question is that I noticed more wear on certain portions of the components due to the direction of rotation while...
