I enjoy rebuilding as much as possible. I feel accomplished when it's successful and I also like the idea of "keeping the family together" if possible. Of course if a part is not salvageable ....it gets replaced! Example..she is getting all new stainless brake hoses. And new brake lines🍻
I am rebuilding the brake system on my 79 fj40. I finished front calipers and now am moving to the rear. I would like to rebuild the 4 original Pistons. I can't find a kit or part number for a kit. I have found kits for pre 75 years. Anybody know of a kit?

Sorry for the double images. I only used the Walker kit for the gasket that goes between the two sections of carb. All else came from the Keystar kit. I replaced fuel pump last night and is not blowing near the stuff out of tail pipe but now is idling inconsistently between about 500 and 800...
I just rebuilt the carb thinking that was the problem. Adjusted the float level. And replaced float needle seat.
I don't think it's a pressure issue but by going back stock will eliminate that variable. I did not do the desmog so can't tell if it was done correctly. If not done correctly...
Not yet OEM fuel pump coming in tomorrow. Gonna shelf the electric pump to minimize variables. It probably has something to do with vacumme emissions systems being ripped out.
1979 2f with electric fuel pump. Just rebuilt the carb. Vehicle runs rich and blows excess water/fuel/ carbon out the tail pipe. It is not oil. It has been desmoged by p.o. the fuel pump specs are 1-4.5 lbs pressure. Compression is good in all cylinders. Valve adj. Just done.
