    Built 60 front,, 80 FF rear. Anyone run into breakage with 40" tires? longfields good to 39, why not 40? Manual trans Vortech 5.7. Mild weighted fj40. Northeast wheeling= never that dry. Trepadors.

    Going to check that right now. Could have bottomed out. Has alot of down travel, but not sure the up travel is enough.

    I believe it was the alcohol and the 30 other people watching that was the actual cause of the failure. So. I already have the nose cone from the 4spd. Probably why it did not break. I guess all I need is the main shaft, front output, fine spline collar, and front drive shaft fine spline flange?

    I've been looking on this forum for hours and can't seen to find it! I sheared my 3 spd tcase front output shaft after landing a weelie. Looking to upgrade where I can. Is it possible to put a fine spline front output from a 4 spd into my 3 spd without too much bs? Not sure if its possible...

    Atlas with yota d-shaft?

    Thanks I'll give them a call. Anyone use the 203 doubler with the atlas? I've broken 2 rock boxes on the trail and am going a different route. Seen some info on broken input shafts for the 203 adapter shaft to a stock t-case but, but nothing about the 203 to the atlas.

    Called someone at Advanced Adapters and asked them if they make a flange for the atlas that will adapt to a landcruiser driveshaft. They said no. Anyone disagree?

    Whining Gearbox

    Probably your t-case. Rebuilt mine and it still makes a bit of a high pitched whine. My gears looked like new too. You can try running a quart of lucas in one at a time. When the noise changes then you found your problem.

    I installed a 98 vortec 5.7 with the stock origional radiator in my 72. No overheating probelms at all! I highly recomend going to a quality electric fan. Fan and clutch setups are ancient and not as efficient as a fan that comes on full power only when the engine needs cooling and shuts off...

    Anyone have a photograph of the 40's? Havent seen any photos of the 40's, just the 47's. Do they look exactly the same (side lugs)? Other than size.
