    it will go in drive but not get out of first , if you pull shifter to second it will go in 2nd but if you put back in drive it stays in 2nd

    1991 cruiser sat for about 5 weeks , started and drove to town fine to get gas , after i got gas it stopped shifting to 3rd , cant even manualy get it to 3rd but it still has reverse . should i drop pan and change filter and clean valve body or is it rebuild time ?

    have not solved it yet , bad weather has stopped progress . had a local auto repair place say it was fuel pump or clogged fuel pump strainer , have ordered both and will get them replaced next week

    im in west texas dont think its rust , and there was not a bunch of rust in the filter . do you have to have a machine to pull codes ?

    i have an 89 v6 4x4 , it will run 10 miles then acts like it has clogged fuel filter and dies , changed filter and is still doing it . if you wait a few minutes it will start and run another 10 miles . any suggestions

    i like kroil best for fj40 rusted bolts , guess it will work on pick up too . thanks for your help i will spray bolts before i go to work and then take a long lunch to do fenders

    i had same problem on mine turned out to be galvinizing in tank flaking off and clogging feed line . mine would run great until you jumped on highway then it would die and not restart for about ten minutes then run fine alittle more and die . i cleaned tank and sealed it and its ran fine for...
