I'm still not sure what all we can do about the catalytic converter but I wouldn't worry about gas that was just a one off crackhead I feel like. It's just because we have 2 cats and easy access. When I had it welded back on the muffler shop said they had seen so many Toyotas recently.
I'm actually in Austin in the 78704 but the cat attempt was in Lake Highlands Dallas around this time last year. That time was mid morning at a grocery store lol.
Yeah the picture really does make it look like that but it's solid metal, has some metal poking out from the drill bit and also I improvised with some paper towels when I got to the gas station and noticed it.
Was parked in my apartment's parking garage but it's not secure whatsoever and located right off the street. Previously had a CAT cut halfway out before they got spotted and ran away, hopefully ya'll don't have my luck.
Noob question but there is enough room for me to work under the vehicle without raising it but I was wondering from a load perspective if it's necessary to jack up the vehicle to install a diff drop?
I bought a 2007 LC with 230k miles for around $17,000. Sounds a bit high typing that out but I don't regret it one bit, it's been such a joy to have. This one in particular was 1 owner and all service was done at Toyota so I can view the records online and the previous owner went in every...
Funny thing is I thought my motor was done when I first bought my '07. It would go up and down but wouldn't come in and out. Once I got a new battery all functions started working again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don't have my grinder here but I order a "Chamferless" socket. It's flat and this one is made for mountain bike shocks but it looks very similar to the shallowness of the valve.
I'm pretty sure this valve is 32mm but I can't get any sort of torque on it without it slipping. Does anyone have any tips on how best to get this off?
I have no clue if it matters but it seems like there are two different types with different part numbers. I have a 2007 if it makes any...
You're right. I've been reading this thread back and forth and I'm nearly convinced this is the issue. Funny enough I actually had the figure 8 o-ring replaced 30k miles ago but I'm thinking this is coming from where the adapter mates up and not where the cooler mates up to the engine.
I have an '07 with about 260k miles and when I bought it a few years ago I initially had Mr. T do a lot of work to baseline it. I don't think this is a gasket leak because that was one of the things they did as well as a new water pump. They also replaced the power steering from what I think...
